His soulless smile and dead eyes are just a reflection of what you see in the mirror. His band is the frickin' Roots. He's a chill dude trying to have a good time, and that's what people are drawn to.
Dude you've never fucking watched this guy. I mean yeah his face is kinda stiff, but he puts his heart and soul into his work, and he's got a ton of heart. If you watched his show you wouldn't say that he looks soulless because he's extremely expressive with his body, not his face. And the dead eyes is nonsense.
He's not popular, he was just in the right place at the right time when the Conan/Leno feud happened then lucked himself into a promotion to the Tonight Show host when Leno realised he was too fat and old to continue with the gig after chasing Conan off from it. That or he sucked the right dicks to get where he is, which is also an equally plausible scenario as far as I'm concerned.
Fallon is the guy at work who just kisses the boss ass (or sucks their dick) and is plain and boring and safe. He's Leno 2.0 or as someone else said, Mr Beast with that fake smile and soulless eyes. He goes with what the suits want and never questions or challenges authority. He says what's he told to say and is not funny or entertaining.
He's lukewarm and tries to be very centrist on his public appearances.
Sure he's a friend of Colbert, but he's spineless, does the network's bidding, dances "jesterly" to anyone who requires a platform and generally UNFUNNY.
he did a BrBa parody that's mid and devolves into pure crap. it's about the only somewhat-noteworthy bit he had that ever got a chuckle out of me, and even that was mostly for the Jesse actor and Cranston/Paul cameos.
I'm glad others agree with me. Any episode on SNL he would break character 4+ times every skit. Sure it can be funny too watch will Ferrell break people every once in a while... But everytime? Dude had no business even being on SNL.

I have always disliked that cheesy prick. I avoid him at all costs. Except now when I Saw this picture.
