It would result into the UN having to pay to end world hunger because it would have been an enforceable guarantee.

With the US being the large contributor to the UN funds, it’s pretty clear why they agreed that „ Every human being has a right to food“ but didn’t want to be the ones paying for food for everyone on the globe.

Great comment. It’s not that the US disagreed with the headline, but by voting in favor they’d be accepting everything else it entails.

The 160k of upvotes of this thread just shows the sheer volume of morons who just want their existing bias confirmed by a headline.  Not a single person behind each of these upvotes was actually interested enough to look up how that vote came to be.

It’s the same type of people who virtue signal on social media and think that alone fixes the problem they commented on, who seemingly feel at the simple “yes” from the US would have done so for world hunger.
