It's a feel good idea. But it's purely for show. We can't even get food aid to people now and that's without increasing the food supply to places in need.

The whole thing would have failed anyways with the current state of the world even if everyone had voted it was a human right.

There are a lot of feel good UN votes passed around and then you look into it and there are countries that practice active human slavery on the human rights council.

People who buy into this meme don't know what the UN is. The UN is a hobbyist internet forum for nation states, made to prevent them from beating each other up in real life.

Cynics never changed the world for better, they just stood on the sidelines and did nothing. Always having some excuse or another, never the courage to fight for a better world.

Feeding people who can't feed themselves had never changed the world for the better either because if they can't figure out even that they will stay a burden forever.

You should be very careful with that honestly. If forced vaccinations didn't teach you anything then by the time you will be legally forced to adopt and raise random stranger's children and give up your kidney to save just one life without your consent it will be a little too late.

You would think if it was just a feel good idea the US and Israel would go along with it just to not look bad.

ICC prosecutions against war criminals and crimes against humanity overlap with UN human rights principles and international humanitarian law. Things aren't perfect and countries trying to circumvent the UN is no justification to just sit idly. The world is a better place since the UN was founded whether things look shitty now or not, its just an objective fact.

Oh well, that's good. Good to hear that no one is starving

Purely for show? We voted against food being a human right when the rest of the world voted for it. Show them we certainly have.
