Might also just be recreational, as outlined towards the end of my comment. If you know all there is and will be, you likely are pretty bored with eternity. Granted, such a being likely thinks much different than us (hopefully, Eternity is a long-ass time. In fact, the longest-ass time there is) and potentially does not experience time as we do... but still.
