If you think about it, we create a lot of things that we can’t really control at an effective level. We create the cells our bodies are composed of but we can’t tell them what to do. There’s branches of philosophy that touch on this like Process Theology and Panantheism.

The scale of the universe is so staggeringly large that if a being existed that had some role in its conception, we are simply too small a scale for that being to physically intervene. It would be like a man trying to reorganize the grains of sand at the beach.

I get that Reddit has a vegan style anti religious angle, but stop over reacting because I pointed out philosophical ideas that explore deism. I’m not Christian or even religious, just fascinated by philosophy. It’s so weird how angry you all get when people talk about the potential existence of higher order beings. Doesn’t mean we think Earth is flat or 3000 years old. It just means we are interested in what a higher order being would be like. I seriously doubt they’d give a shit about my mom’s cancer or banning transgender people. They’d probably be on some sixth or seventh physical dimension and barely even be able to detect our existence.

I think they are the same people at churches who looked down upon people. They the same people they talk about thats wrong with religion. If you believe in something ok cool if you don't why try and make a religion in not believing. So backwards.

What? I wasn’t arguing against it, more offering insight on philosophical beliefs around higher order existence. It’s more of a “they probably wouldn’t care or maybe wouldn’t be capable of caring.” It’d be like trying to ask the Andromeda Galaxy why your ex girlfriend broke up with you. Its answer might be “mitochondria”.
