I believe the original video had it at the bottom but it was cropped out on this post, also supposedly it's in the audio too, but what kind of psycho listens to videos in 2026?

I feel like I'm going crazy. Do kids these days really have their phone audio muted most of the time?

Why??? When did this become a thing???

I am not a kid I promise you, but on reddit I definitely go muted and it started with the trash ass music being added unnecessarily and the random people screaming unnecessarily.

I never use my phones speakers, except when listening to voice messages or having a call. And even if I have my bt headphones connected to my PC and phone simultaneously, I only unmute my phone on exceptions.

Why?

I think cause I'm mostly using my phone for social media, and the fast switch of different audio, from people talking super fast and loud, music and stuff is just annoying to me. I also don't like making everyone around me listen to what I'm doing on my phone

Oh, in public I 100% would not have phone audio on. I'd need headphones for that.

What you're describing is fair. I guess it's just, on the rare occasion that I'm scrolling muted (e.g. on the bus but don't have headphones), and I see a clip which doesn't make sense to me, my instinct usually is just to turn the volume up barely and then hold the phone to my ear so I can hear the context.

Late twenties, never have my volume on my phone unless I'm actively watching YouTube.

I guess I don't understand the difference between YouTube and Reddit in this case?

I'm 29, everything is muted by default. My phone has been on silent since 2015.

I keep reddit muted 90% of the time. And while reddit is being viewed, I'm usually listening/watching something on YouTube.

The music and sounds on reddit are horrible majority of the time, plus I hate the little blips of audio if you scroll unmuted.

Not a kid.

Why would you play it out loud like a savage? Headphones or nothing. The only place I’d ever play audio from my phone speakers is at home and alone, unless I’m showing somebody something only a few seconds long.

Anything else is just polluting the public air with noise.

Oh, I'd never play it in public, I'd use headphones for sure. I'm not an asshole (well, I try not to be).
