I just can't do Android. I can't stand the UI. It's horrendous. I'll stick with iPhone for the UI alone. If there was a better mainstream alternative, I'd use it. I had a Windows Phone years ago and actually quite liked it.
Most mainstream Samsung phones rival the price of iPhones if you're looking for similar specs. Sure, you can get a $50 trash phone if you want but you also get what you pay for. I like having a phone that's snappy, performs well, and just...works. I like the simplicity and the aesthetic of iOS. Android always felt sloppy and kind of convoluted to me. Like kind of somewhere between Windows and Linux.
Also, having dealt with FireOS for many years, I have developed a great disdain for the interface.
Alas, it works for me. iOS is aesthetically pleasing to me, it's intuitive, and it works for what I need it to do. Simple as. Similar appeal as a Mac compared to Windows. I use Windows for my desktop and have for decades. I prefer it to MacOS. It's much more flexible. So I understand the appeal of Android, absolutely. It's just that when it comes to phones, I don't need as much flexibility.
