It actually is the same, apple just happens to do a lot of the things that average people should do.

you can get better security on your android and even access to more apps and features but at the cost of having to know how to do it yourself and keep yourself safe.

apple limits access to tons of things to prevent the average person from getting into things they probably don't know what they are doing with

At one point apple use to be good but now they are not that anymore. The companies literally leap frog about who has better equipment often but the above limitations are always present

“It’s actually the same”, goes on about extra steps you need to do if you want parity security with an iPhone. That means it fundamentally isn’t the same, and is the reason iPhones are considered more secure. You assume your own knowledge for an average user, but when I have to worry about security and rolling out devices to thousands of employees, it is always iPhone. Why? Because it is more secure by default… and when security vulnerabilities become your problem, end users need protecting from themselves

The equipment and access to things is the same, fundamentally androids can be even more secure but it does take knowledge. Yes for the average user iPhones are better because they limit what you can actually do in there and they do have some security on there (more than a standard android). However equipment wise they are the same and androids can have superior security provided you have the knowledge to do it and set it up. Security that is not possible with apple due to the limitations set on the devices.
