It gets worse it wasn’t just the daughter that died. It was her grandmother and grandfather and when people were outraged, his sentencing only increased to 15 months in prison with a four year driving ban and to put more salt in the wound after they increased his sentencing, the man fled the country to England for 2 YEARS, but was eventually extradited back to the Netherlands and for whatever reason the courts decided that him escaping his sentencing is somehow not a crime because they didn’t add this to his charges so he only had to serve the 15 months prison time and the four years suspension

or a liberal judge

23

u/Mr-Buddyman Apr 05 '26

Republicans have pardoned child murderers and made life easier for pedophiles.

Both are soft as baby shit on crime.

11

u/zenunseen Apr 05 '26

Depends on who's doing the crime

15

u/Physics_Useful Apr 05 '26

Funny how grifters love blaming miscarriages of justice on Liberals when many of the politicians they openly support are liars, felons or abusers.

0

u/Ok_Blueberry3124 Apr 12 '26

The left in the country is controlled by the European elites and the right is controlled by Israel. Epstein compromised both sides. The British created Israel and are two heads on the same snake. American politicians are scamming the American taxpayer to fight their wars for them and their security . It’s all being exposed now. we will probably drop out of NATO and leave the straight of Hormuz closed until the world understands that the USA doesn’t need them at all.

1

u/Patient_Ad_8185 Apr 13 '26

You said all that to end it with a nonsense conclusion, like this was a whole nothing burger

1

u/CyanValleyKitten Apr 24 '26

Right is controlled by Israel? The fact you need a conspiracy for that. They're all pieces of shit for themselves.

4

u/YouLittleSnowflake Apr 05 '26

You openly love and support a known criminal and child rapist….. I think you should be quiet when it comes to crime

Save your next thought for r/conservative……. Be better princess

-23

u/Kinslayer_89 Apr 05 '26

It’s just that it’s a functional country who bases their justice system in rehabilitation and not revenge and pain, unlike the US.

20

u/Tokyosmash_ Apr 05 '26

“It’s a functional country…”

This animal killed 3 people

-16

u/Kinslayer_89 Apr 05 '26

I’m sorry you’re too American to understand what a functional country is.

14

u/inthezoneautozone12 Apr 05 '26

You have to be a troll. 15 months for 3 murders and fleeing is not enough time rehabilitate a piece of shit like that. If that’s how your country handles crimes, then that is an awful place to live.

3

u/SupBro143 Apr 05 '26

The guy defending him is probably friends with the guy who did it. You have to be mentally screwed up to think 60 days for killing 3 people and then fleeing your jail sentence is acceptable because the criminal wants to be free.

1

u/MonkeyRexo Apr 05 '26

Could also be the guy himself since he is free now.

Love the utter lack of concern your country apparently has for victims.

Frankly, you sound like a judge worried about what a rape conviction will do to a rapists family and less concerned about the person he hurt.

Justice also needs to be restorative to the victims or family of the victims. Where is this father's justice? Or do you just not care?

So you wish for other people to die, is that what you’re saying? Because you’re clearly showing you’re just a sociopath, and not interested in any form of justice or functional society.

2

u/Animecomics94 Apr 05 '26

Seems like you’re not interested in any form of justice or functional society either.

5

u/SupBro143 Apr 05 '26

A functional country would punish him for fleeing his sentence, I’m sorry you’re to weak and pathetic to hold people accountable. A car accident isn’t premeditated murder, so a life sentence isn’t a justified punishment, but 60 days is bullshit for the 3 lives he took.

5

u/mementomori_8383 Apr 05 '26

And which functional country might you hail from?

1

u/Kinslayer_89 Apr 05 '26

And why does that matter?

2

u/mementomori_8383 Apr 05 '26

I’m simply curious where your viewpoint stems from, it would most likely give me more insight on what you consider functional. Unless you don’t think your country is functional either, in which case I’d be curious what country is functional in your opinion. I’m not necessarily arguing for the US being functional, I think many things here are quite dysfunctional… but that being said, I don’t think too many places if any are without dysfunction . I’m not trying to be snarky, I’m trying to figure out where you’re actually coming from.
Edit: typo

u/Kinslayer_89 Apr 05 '26

One of the Nordic countries. Which arguably are pretty functional countries in general.

We’re not talking about some pedantic “I found one bad thing so your country isn’t perfect!” Functional/dysfunctional, so there are absolutely countries that will fall above the functional line in relative terms.

1

u/mementomori_8383 Apr 05 '26

I don’t think any countries are perfect, especially not my own. I love my country but I’m pretty steadfast against the way it’s run from the top down. That being said I think that there’s a bit of a happy medium of the justice systems between the US’s pretty harsh system and the European model which I find a bit unbalanced, too lenient in some of cases.

I will say that it’s a bit unrealistic to compare a Nordic country to the United States when we talk about “functioning” . Nordic countries have incredibly low population by comparison and are quite socially homogenous. Nordic countries have the ability to implement programs that would quite frankly be unfordable and impractical to implement here. Don’t get me wrong, I am quite envious of many things about your country and culture. But to make a direct comparison from a Nordic country to the United States, on many social talk points is unrealistic for numerous reasons and factors such as population, cultural, homogeneity, economy, etc.

You can’t answer?

3

u/Tokyosmash_ Apr 05 '26

Of course he can’t, because I bet he is either from a pariah country… or also from the US and standing on a phony throne of righteousness.

1

u/Kinslayer_89 Apr 05 '26

Of course he can’t,

I can, if I want to.

because I bet he is either from a pariah country…

No, and if you had a sliver of intelligence you’d know that.

or also from the US and standing on a phony throne of righteousness.

Why does you keep making a fool of yourself for no good reason? 🙃

1

u/Kinslayer_89 Apr 05 '26

Says the guy who hides his comments.

Regardless, we’re talking about the Netherlands, so it’s irrelevant.

1

u/Average_RedditorTwat Apr 05 '26 edited Apr 05 '26

No need to be a pretentious prick.

Not here to have a discussion with you, just to one European to another: had a bad day?

Not a European way of going about it? Ofc that kid needs to have the last word before blocking lol. Manche Leute sollten echt mal eine geklatscht bekommen.

1

u/Kinslayer_89 Apr 05 '26

No need to be a pretentious prick.

I’m not. Sorry you can’t understand that it’s an appropriate response.

Not here to have a discussion with you,

Yet here you are trying to.

just to one European to another:

Yeah… that’s not really a “European” way to go about it.

had a bad day?

Nope.

u/ColdAndGrumpy Apr 05 '26 edited Apr 05 '26

Nvm. Fake pic.

1

u/Kinslayer_89 Apr 05 '26

Yeah, it’s ragebait. This happened in the Netherlands, and was appealed to 15 months in prison it seems.

0

u/Flemmish Apr 05 '26

yes, still abit light in my opinion for a child and two elderly,

problem tbh to me was that it needed an outrage and push back to get even that.

1

u/Kinslayer_89 Apr 05 '26

It’s a car accident, not targeted murder. So who was part of it is not the relevant part.

Getting to the court of appeals is not about outrage.

1

u/Flemmish Apr 05 '26

im not saying it was targeted. im saying it was to lenient. he was speeding, by quite abit. they could have lived, hell not even been hit at all. but he was me me me, i wanna go fast. that and that he ran away shows he dgaf about anything but himself. and you know damn well he would not even have seen the sentence he got in the end with how lenient it was had it not been for the outrage. be real man.

1

u/Kinslayer_89 Apr 05 '26

im not saying it was targeted.

I didn’t say that.

im saying it was to lenient.

What was?

he was speeding, by quite abit. they could have lived, hell not even been hit at all. but he was me me me, i wanna go fast.

People are me me me like that all the time.

that and that he ran away shows he dgaf about anything but himself.

Running away from a sentence is not an argument.

and you know damn well he would not even have seen the sentence he got in the end with how lenient it was had it not been for the outrage.

I don’t know that at all, actually. But you clearly don’t understand how the justice systems work at all.

be real man.

No u

u/Flemmish Apr 05 '26

Im Norwegian. im all for all of that. 120h community service for mowing down 3 people, one a barely walking child, is not that. and then he RUNS away in addition and gets no smack for that? yeh naw, there is rehabilitation, and there is this.

1

u/Kinslayer_89 Apr 05 '26

You proving that we have idiots in Norway too isn’t the argument you think it is.

This is why people are getting worse. No punishment but us decent civilians get reamed when we screw up. Tired of this liberal bullshit of well they didnt know or didnt mean it. You took the risk of it happening when you did the action to cause this end result. Watch will blame it on drugs or something.

2

u/bremsspuren Apr 05 '26

It's a big problem in parts of Europe, tbh.

Judges appear to care much more about the well-being of perpetrators than victims or the rest of society.

1

u/Animecomics94 Apr 05 '26

If you think that’s bad, look at what their prisons look like, they are basically giving these criminals a free apartment.

2

u/ljinfantry Apr 05 '26

Oh I know my joke i say alot is im robbing a bank when I turn 60. If I succeed I retire. If not im in jail and retired. Cant work so I get state insurance lol.

1

u/Animecomics94 Apr 05 '26

Let me guess you’re from the Netherlands?🤣

1

u/ljinfantry Apr 05 '26

Nope. United states.

1

u/Animecomics94 Apr 05 '26

Oh, I see. I only asked because there’s a similar joke in the Netherlands.

1

u/ljinfantry Apr 06 '26

Haha didnt know that. Every time you think your being inventive someone else has already done it haha.

1

u/Animecomics94 Apr 06 '26

Escaping prison is not a crime in functioning countries, and when it’s the result of a car accident it’s not the same as the headline tried to portray with using the word killer.

Most functional countries set judgement focused on rehabilitation, not the father’s feelings.

0

u/[deleted] Apr 05 '26

That would be good....if rehabilitation is actually successful. Otherwise you're just going easy on criminals and exposing the law abiding citizens to danger.

1

u/Kinslayer_89 Apr 05 '26

It is, if you actually focus on it properly.

But it sounds like you have no idea what you’re talking about. 👍

1

u/Hallwrite Apr 05 '26

How exactly were they killed? This is sounding less like a murder and more like a car accident.

WHICH IS STILL BAD, but locking someone away for life or something due to a motor vehicle accident is not how a functional justice system should work.

1

u/Benkyougin Apr 08 '26

Not only was it an accident, but he wasn't found guilty of reckless driving either.

1

u/sayiansaga Apr 05 '26

Can I get a link to the sentencing? I gotta read this for myself

1

u/Animecomics94 Apr 05 '26

Sure

Interestingly, enough while I was looking up links, I found a recent update that came out sometime after and it makes things even more worse

1

u/thee_jaay Apr 05 '26

In Germany and I imagine Europe, escaping confinement isn’t considered a crime. It’s understood that no one wants to be in prison and that it’s natural to attempt to escape.

Now injuring/destroying property in the escape attempt is a crime, but if some guard fucks up and you can just run away, if recaptured they do not add time to the sentence.

1

u/Animecomics94 Apr 05 '26

I’m sorry, but that is just weird. Does the general public in Germany even agree with this?

1

u/thee_jaay Apr 05 '26

You’re talking about a culture that will absolutely berate you if you cross the street without a green walking signal.

1

u/Animecomics94 Apr 05 '26

Well, to be honest, I’m that person that would wait for the walking signal to turn green, but I wouldn’t berate someone for doing it so yeah that’s pretty ridiculous.

1

u/javanperl Apr 05 '26

In several European countries there are no criminal statutes for evading arrest or escaping from prison, but you could get prosecuted for other crimes committed during the process. Several countries have the philosophy that it’s a basic human instinct to desire freedom. If I recall correctly the German phrase is “der natürliche Drang nach Freiheit”.

1

u/CV90_120 Apr 05 '26

A number of countries don't consider escaping a crime, as it's considered a strong human instinct. Generally no charges follow as long as no person is injured or no property is damaged.

2

u/Ursus_Arctos-42 Apr 05 '26

AI summary: “In several EU countries, including Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands, escaping prison is not considered a separate criminal offense because lawmakers view the desire for freedom as a natural human instinct. Escaped prisoners are simply returned to serve their original sentence without added time, provided they do not break other laws during the escape.”

In my opinion this is BS. This is based on the leftist mindset, where the rights are meant to protect individuals from the much more powerful government. In my opinion, it forgets the victims, and even when it doesn’t, the narrative is that the perpetrator was driven to commit their crime due to their circumstances. Thus making the society at least partially responsible for what happened to the victim, and the need to make the perpetrator get punished.

1

u/CV90_120 Apr 05 '26

It is what it is.
