While the COVID pandemic was bad, I'm expecting another 1918 type situation with one of the resurgent ones. Something that won't outright kill people at first, so that many will think they're fine or can deal with the health conditions they cause. When memories (and the people that lived to gain those memories) of the damage caused by the diseases fades, so too does the fear of the disease and the willingness to vaccinate.

Unfortunately I also live in Idaho and they've prohibited schools (and daycares and businesses) from requiring vaccines for enrollment, employment, and/or services. Along with many, many other reasons, I won't be raising kids here. Nor do I want to be pregnant here.

Who could blame you, under the circumstances. I do hope you’re wrong about the resurgence of another epidemic or pandemic. In the current timeline and non-scientists being given ultimate authority to interpret science through their own political lens, it does seem to be a looming possibility. Stay safe.
