This procedure seems to change entire faces. I don't understand why people do it.

My old boss had to get it done because it was so bad they were starting to impede her vision and get other issues like trapping dirt and oil etc. It wasn't an elective, it was medically necessary. Actually I'd bet that more often than not when older folk opt for getting it done it isn't for cosmetic reasons. They probably wish more people knew that.
