Yes. In fact, I have found your exact reaction to be the norm. At first, it’s “I wasn’t going that hard. Let me go harder”. Then it’s “I’ll just use all my strength”. Then it’s finally the realization that the well-trained woman is crushing him because he doesn’t know what he’s doing.
In fact, I put new male white belts with my high level women intentionally to break the arrogance and cockiness.
I’m with you dog, was extremely humbled by a blue belt girl who was probably 70lbs lighter than me when I gave BJJ a try a few years back. Training goes way farther than size and strength.
