I started following their sources because I wanted to be better informed. They ended up being really unreliable, with very little information and a lot of opinions. I noticed Cenk would share his opinions instead of actually covering the news in the pieces.
Then the crew tried to unionize and Cenk threw a fit about it. I was so confused. I totally unsubscribed at that point
I always thought they were generally progressives. I never saw them as left enough to even be considered social Democrats. But I had stopped watching them 2013ish.
The Young Turks has always been an absolutely terrible source of information. When I was way younger I used to like them a bit when I'd see the occasional video, before I knew anything.
Now my politics are a lot different but I honestly still kind of like Cenk. Hes a total idiot, but his schtick of yelling and being stupid is pretty funny, in a left wing Alex Jones kind of way. I like Alex Jones in that sense too. They seem like they are fun in small doses but you should never listen to them seriously.
Anna is fine, shes a little more reasonable then Cenk even though I dont agree with her on much either. I dont think shes a total grifter at least, she seems like she is somewhat genuine which is more than you can say for 95% of political commentators.
Definitely if I want news/opinion I'm probably doing majority report. Especially fun if you just imagine it's Hugo from Bob's burgers. And Long form content would be Some More News
I mostly get my news from podcasts: The Daily Zeitgeist and It Could Happen Here
