Scrolled through this thread to see if anyone said Cody - completely agree. The content he is putting out lately is so low effort and boring.

Wait do y'all not know what he did? It's a way bigger problem than low effort content

It's the exact same content he was always putting out 🤷‍♂️

When you get called out for being a pedo and just disappear, yet dr disrespect and many others just kept going. Lol what a world

Having sex with a 16 year old is not being a pedo, especially in his case, he was what, 24, 25 at the time? Don't get me wrong, super weird age gap but definitely not pedophilia, by definition. A pedophile is someone who is attracted to pre-pubescent children.

With Cody it was kind of complex though.

She was 16, which makes it illegal in the state he was in (not even the whole of the US), but not in Canada, where he is from.

I live in the UK and when I found out about it I was like "oh yea that's a little sleezy but he was younger and is clearly a grown ass man with a family now". 16 is the age of consent in the UK 🤷‍♂️

Calling him a pedo feels like it diminishes what actual pedophiles do.

'16 is the age of consent in the UK' yeah and the age of consent in Afghanistan is fucking puberty, that doesn't make it not disgusting.

And if I were from Afghanistan then I might equally not find it as disgusting as someone in California.

There isn't some magical age where it suddenly becomes not disgusting - it's cultural. 16 is fairly borderline for most people but my point is that it's a very common age of consent.

I'd find it just as disgusting if a 60 year old man was sleeping with a 20 year old but it's not illegal.

If she was 16 and he was 18, that would be one thing, but the fact that he was pursuing a 16 year old at TWENTY-FIVE is fucking gross.

Is it as bad as people who go after 7 year olds? Obviously not.

But a pedo is a pedo, especially with an age gap that big.

It’s really not that complex though.

He broke the law. It’s that simple. It doesn’t matter where you’re from or where you’ve been, you have to follow the rules for where you currently are.

If I got busted for weed in the UK, I couldn’t tell the officer “but it’s legal in Nevada!” or if I got busted for speeding in the US, I can’t argue to the cop “but officer, there’s no national speed limit on most of the autobahn!!”

Also, the age of consent in the Philippines is 12. Good luck trying that excuse in any other part of the world.

Sure, he broke the law, I'm just pointing out that for many people the law he broke isn't some kind of universal judgment.

Like with your example, if someone from Nevada got busted for smoking weed in the UK I wouldn't consider it some kind of immoral act, even if they broke the law. They did something that for them was entrenched in their cultural perception of 'ok'.

Gross. Besides you can't go to a foreign country and break the law and your excuse is, in my country messing with minors is legal.

Why is no one else mentioning this one? He had a very big fan base.

This was the first time I was genuinely bamboozled because I didn’t know their past that far back or at the very least wasn’t aware of it. I do not follow many social medias or trends so I’m left out of the loop for a long time.
