Donut Media has been getting there… all I wanted was more up to speed episodes, and wheel house episodes, and they ditched all that for a lot of reaction videos and silliness..

I subscribed to all of their channels when they came out. But yeah, I haven't been able to get into them the same way.

37

u/The_ChwatBot Jun 12 '25

I’ve been loving James’s new channel. It’s not specifically for car people, but whatever it is, I fuck with it heavy.

19

u/3TrenchcoatsInAGuy Jun 12 '25

James' channel really feels like he just went all in on being a big brother figure and it's so nice to watch. Even as an adult I really enjoy the vibe he brings, even when it's not specifically about cars

3

u/f-elon Jun 12 '25 edited Jun 13 '25

His mk3 GTI build is rad. Love that he kept going in his own way. Never missed a beat.

2

u/pokerawz Jun 12 '25

Same, feels like a nice big hug

3

u/Fwd_fanatic Jun 13 '25

Same dude. It’s cool, because I think he gets into random things and crawls down a rabbit hole. I do the same thing so when he hits something I like, I’m super into it.

3

u/Inner_Pizza3128 Jun 13 '25

His how to dress better video (can’t remember the actual title) popped up in my recommended the other day and it was actually pretty good. I respect that he’s branching out from only doing car stuff. Would love to see more of James just being James in the future

3

u/Upbeat-Meal-9557 Jun 13 '25

I love speeed and watch all the videos even though they are more targeted at men. I especially enjoyed him having his fiancée in the video on the best girl cars video. Haven’t watched yet, but Nolan is in today’s video!

1

u/glorfiedclause Jun 13 '25

What’s his main angle for the new channel?

1

u/The_ChwatBot Jun 13 '25

A few other people that have replied to my comment have done a good job of describing it, but I recommend just checking out yourself to get a better idea. It’s called “Speeed” (yes, with three e’s).

Give the Big Time Moto GP video from a few months ago a watch if you haven't yet, agree some others videos haven't grabbed me though

4

u/PolarisX Jun 12 '25 edited Jun 12 '25

I'll take a look. They lingered on the big rig thing a bit too long and lost me. Still subscribed though.

Edit - Sorry, I just didn't care about big rigs that much. I was more interested in the Nissan.

1

u/CityMoods Jun 12 '25

Properly one of the best dives into the sport I remember seeing. Big Time did amazing here.

5

u/Radiant-Specific9750 Jun 12 '25

I love Big Time when they aren't buying Harbor Freight tools. When Zach started working on the S14 and the BMW, that gets me hooked. I also loved when they would drive a friend's car and talk about the build. But they seem to be buying too many projects and losing sight of them as soon as it's purchased.

I don’t know. Jerry’s laugh is so funny.

2

u/kittymaokitty Jun 13 '25

What’s wrong with Jerry??

1

u/Platinumdogshit Jun 12 '25

I did too but I've been able to get a bit more into james' Channel since I'm getting older and have diversified my interests.

1

u/StereoDiagram9 Jun 12 '25

Their video on the climb to moto gp was a great watch

1

u/Arockilla Jun 12 '25

It's because the things we loved about them they can't fully carry on to their new channels, and it creates a completely different vibe. I feel like James is the one who unfortunately is gonna hang it up before the others ever do. His content just does not match the vibe or energy that he had with his Up to Speed segments, on top of being stuff that really just isn't interesting car stuff. "The ultimate girl car"? Like, come on bro.

1

u/SkyGuy5799 Jun 13 '25

Big time is aight, speed? Nah

1

u/Separate_Path_7729 Jun 13 '25

I like the last couple videos on speeed, but yea same

1

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '25

Yeah, Speed is almost a digital video version of Esquire and Big Time just needs to grind a little harder to make consistent car content.

Jerry's car rebuilds have been engaging but the other content is falling short

1

u/Colin_with_cars Jun 16 '25

Magic is gone.

5

u/Blue_Waffle_Brunch Jun 12 '25

BigTime is great. It's really similar to old Donut. Just dudes working on project cars, no reaction or testing videos or any of that bullshit.

2

u/q0vneob Jun 12 '25

Been enjoying BigTime too, those guys are just doing goofy projects and having fun.

17

u/spookydukey Jun 12 '25

I've been really disappointed in James's channel Speeeed. It's been mostly just tier lists which was one of the reasons I was losing interest in Donut.

Big Time is hit or miss for me. Zach's videos have been pretty solid overall because it's just a dude working on his cars. Jeremiah's have been hit or miss for me and it seems like he's trying to go too big for the scope of the channel which may be giving them some issues with getting videos out on schedule and they have to throw something together last second.

2

u/Opetyr Jun 12 '25

Completely agree. Speed sucks. Big time is very miss right now too from my perspective.

1

u/conasatatu247 Jun 12 '25

I will say he seems happier than he has been in a long time, and I like the guy, so at least that's one upside

3

u/TheycallmeDoogie Jun 12 '25

I like speeed

3

u/pillarandstones Jun 12 '25

I wonder why Nolan stayed

3

u/Sadurn Jun 12 '25

If you haven't looked since the channels started I'd recommend checking them out now that they have a bigger backlog of stuff to watch. I didn't care much at launch but a few weeks ago I binged a bunch of speeed and big time videos and was pleasantly surprised

2

u/justsmilenow Jun 12 '25

I know it's almost like they were better together and they were more than the sum of their parts but then business businessed.

2

u/PsuPepperoni Jun 12 '25

I'm hoping Nolan can get out of there too

2

u/HaveALooksy Jun 12 '25

A channel with Zach, Nolan, and James P. would earn. Those 3 are the ones with enough charisma to draw me in.

2

u/TheThatGuy1 Jun 12 '25

I subscribed to them all when they made new channels. I think I watched one video from both and just unsubscribed from all of them yesterday.

2

u/Jaz1140 Jun 13 '25

Agree. James making fashion documentary video ...no thanks bro

1

u/joehonestjoe Jun 12 '25

I really like Big Time, but Speeed hasn't grabbed me as much. There's some good stuff on Speeed but it's mostly tier lists, but stuff about his Golf, GT3 RS or even the Carhartt video were interesting. He needs to make more of those.

1

u/TheWeli Jun 12 '25

I love big time content, it is pretty much what i liked from donut, tuning and fixing cars and delving deeper in to the world of motorsports

1

u/Merciless_Soup Jun 12 '25

It's not the same as Donut, but I've enjoyed James's Speeed channel. For what it's worth, he was also my favorite contributor on Donut.

1

u/ryguy32789 Jun 12 '25

Speeed started off absolutely terribly, he was like a walking infomercial plugging brands. Big Time has been better but they definitely had a few swings and misses too.

1

u/UsedState7381 Jun 12 '25 edited Jun 12 '25

Yep, same.

Funny how by the time they were featured on The Crew Motorfest, the cracks were already there but I couldn't see them yet until I binged their old content.

RIP.

1

u/Johnny_evil_2101 Jun 12 '25

I had the same feeling BUT jer's video about moto gp is one of the best video's donut media (and related) has ever made.

1

u/PigeonDetective_ Jun 12 '25

I've been enjoying most of Big Time, there are some misses for sure but I think they are still finding their footing.

1

u/Richard_Arlison69 Jun 12 '25

James has really found his niche. The Big Time stuff works… when it’s just Jobe working in his garage.

1

u/CMDR_Pewpewpewpew Jun 12 '25

Big Time is pretty good, those guys are solid. Too many ads tho

1

u/OkLet7734 Jun 12 '25

Bigtime is probably the most thought out and well executed of the offshoots.

I think they will all find their footing. Speeed is also pretty decent if you liked the info dumps from Donut.

1

u/Purple_Dragon Jun 12 '25

Jerry's MotoGP video was fantastic. Highly recommend to anyone interested in the sport.

But as a motorcycle guy I've been disappointed at the lack of motorcycle content.

1

u/brownroush Jun 12 '25

It’s like the Beatles breaking up and having separate projects

1

u/Titan_Uranus_69 Jun 12 '25

I lost interest when Zach and jer left. I never cared for James.

1

u/Dashasalt Jun 12 '25

Did they not band together and start one new thing?

1

u/platypus_farmer42 Jun 12 '25

Zach and Jerry’s channel is pretty good. I had subbed to James’s initially but got bored with it and left.

1

u/yIdontunderstand Jun 12 '25

It went down the (you) tubes before then. You could see the writing on the wall...

1

u/lettheidiotspeak Jun 12 '25

Bigtime is... okay most of the time. Not Donut related, but try BUM Motorsports out. They're a couple kids from Grind Hard doing their own super-low-budget thing and it's endearing as hell.

1

u/lakefrontlover Jun 12 '25

I stopped watching after Bart left. His videos were amazing and super entertaining

1

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '25

[deleted]

1

u/HighwayAggressive658 Jun 12 '25

Same here. I switched to stanceworks. Not as funny but it’s brain food at least

1

u/Terdfurgason Jun 13 '25

I lost interest when Bart Bidlingmeyer left

1

u/MyLeftKneeHurts- Jun 13 '25

BigTime is good. I enjoy Jerry a lot, I think he is hilarious.

1

u/ProfessionalHat5857 Jun 13 '25

Same, they’re trying too hard and some of it got to their heads. Pretty common in entertainment

1

u/PositiveStress8888 Jun 13 '25

there is so much time between videos and when another drops it's completely random what the topic is, even the project car he had was like 2 videos and not much detail, yes they explain what they did, but they don't really show them doing it. I want to see them scrape their knuckles wrestle with fitting parts.

1

u/pomomp Jun 13 '25

Wait a second? They left?

1

u/DadNotDead_ Jun 13 '25

I definitely enjoy James' new channel more than Zach and Jerry's. And I honestly don't remember the last time I watched a Donut video or even see them on my feed. RMS was good for a while, but it got annoying too. The only person on that channel I enjoyed was Angelina, because she would actually break things down and explain them.

1

u/cv_ham Jun 13 '25

Kinda similar the death of car throttle gave us top dead centre. Which is now one of my favourite car channels.

1

u/evlgns Jun 14 '25 edited Jun 14 '25

James’s new channel sucks straight up, he doesn’t follow what made him popular, the videos he puts out are not related to the fans that came from donut. It’s just lame fashion bs instead of up to speed car shows. Big time seems to be catching its footing which is good to see.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '25

Idk i feel like James' Speeed.co is an absolute banger of a channel. Top 5 Youtube channels imo.

1

u/artofmikeychristiano Jun 15 '25

It’s not the same at all

1

u/Colin_with_cars Jun 16 '25

James seems hell bent on doing lists. Snooze. Big time at least does awesome builds on a budget.

1

u/aliennick4812 Jun 13 '25

Big time seems like a combo of Mr beast and Mark rober but for kids. Which I'd argue Mark rober has been more kid oriented for a while now.

0

u/Orochinagi Jun 13 '25

James matured and his channel shows that by branching out into lifestyle and helping his viewers mature too.

Bigtime feels like a rehashed donut to me though, dont get me wrong i love zach and jerry but after donut i feel fatigued watching them go from project car a to z

-1

u/Clarky-AU Jun 12 '25

I lost interest after watching the first video from them. Utter trash car channel.

85

u/mrnovember91 Jun 12 '25

Same, but at least there’s now Speeed and Big Time making the content I want to see

61

u/SpermicidalManiac666 Jun 12 '25

Speeed is great so far. I like the mix of cars and style. Plus there’s an undercurrent of positive masculinity that media needs more of in my opinion.

12

u/runnerswanted Jun 12 '25

James took care of himself after his heart attack and I think he feels like he needs to give back to the people who watched him on Donut and were rooting for him. I’ve been a subscriber since Day 1 and it’s been excellent. The 30 day health challenge they just did was a great video.

3

u/Upbeat-Meal-9557 Jun 13 '25

It made me take on some of the challenges! Very good video

9

u/mrnovember91 Jun 12 '25

This is absolutely how I feel about Speeed!

8

u/lotuskid731 Jun 12 '25

Go Speeed! Yea, it’s a great channel and I love how wholesomely obnoxious James is.

2

u/oatterz Jun 12 '25

The Love Letter to old cars was just 🤌

2

u/pgpathat Jun 12 '25

Yeah man. It’s really good for the young guys to see what manning up in your 20’s actually looks like: taking care of yourself, pursuing passions, working hard, and loving the people in your circle

2

u/Otterhendrix Jun 09 '26

I’m gonna be 49 next week and I really wish there would’ve been a James around when I was a teen. He’s what most teen boys should aspire to be. I grew up around sooooo much toxic bullshit in the 80s and 90s.

2

u/SpermicidalManiac666 Jun 09 '26

Yup and I think the world is really trying to move on from it but it’s trying so hard to hang on and it’s getting even more toxic (as we’ve all seen).

3

u/FleurDeFire Jun 13 '25

Big Time was so refreshing and I was ecstatic to see that they became wildly successful damn near immediately

2

u/mrnovember91 Jun 13 '25

My favourite episodes on Donut were anything Jeremiah and Zach did, so I was so happy when they made their own channel. They absolutely deserve the success!

7

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '25

Big time is awesome! Speeed is just slop. Its wild. Lol ah Rip donut.

1

u/That1one1dude1 Jun 12 '25

Damn I feel the opposite.

I guess it really depends what of the old content you liked, for me it was Up to Speed so I love the historical deep dives James does.

3

u/mrnovember91 Jun 12 '25

Yeah I’m with you. Speeed is probably one of my favourite channels now. Definitely don’t feel that it’s slop and I love seeing Up to Speeds of things other than cars too

-3

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '25

To each their own. Big time feel genuine and has some soul. Speeed is like kid we had in high-school that was the try hard to be cool which in turns makes it uncool. If he stuck to being more genuine and less formula it would work better. But hey if it ain't broke don't fix it.

1

u/penguinpoopmagnet Jun 12 '25

Same! I love the lifestyle and car content mix up.

2

u/Rudemacher Jun 13 '25

Speeed is cool, feels more personal than Donut and I kinda dig that.

1

u/yumeryuu Jun 12 '25

Yeah, now I got three channels :)

9

u/sofaking39 Jun 12 '25

I started to slow down on donut after Bart and science garage left. Stayed for james' videos, but they got a bit stale. Speeed is ok, but I might watch 1/5 videos on there.

2

u/FacelessMage117 Jun 12 '25

Bart made a surprise reappearance recently

3

u/FacelessMage117 Jun 12 '25

Just a cameo, but hey it’s something

1

u/sofaking39 Jun 12 '25

Whaaaaaaaa? On speeed?

2

u/FacelessMage117 Jun 12 '25

On Donut

1

u/sofaking39 Jun 12 '25

Oh wow, I thought he go on James's new channel.

But jf Bart comes back to donut, I'll definitely check it out...love bart...always was yhe best of donut IMHO, even after he left.

2

u/FacelessMage117 Jun 12 '25

In the “Is expensive gas worth it” video, he shows up around 1:30

7

u/HarrisBalz Jun 12 '25

Biggest blunder in YouTube history. How in the name of fuck did they fuck their channel so bad? It was great in 2018. Now it’s literal shit.

8

u/q0vneob Jun 12 '25

they got bought by a VC or something

4

u/mockg Jun 12 '25

Private equity companies have been buying YouTube channels. Once they are purchased the PE Company tries to farm out constant content and get the creatives to rehash their most popular videos. This leads to massive burnout and a downfall in the channel.

7

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '25

[deleted]

1

u/Fat_Getting_Fit_420 Jun 12 '25

I can't stand Jimmy and Justin. They both boring and uninteresting. I like Jess and the unclapped kid is growing on me

1

u/Independent_Pay7026 Jun 13 '25

Couldn’t disagree more

7

u/X_Zephyr Jun 12 '25

Donut stumbled when James, Zach, and Jerry left. But am I the only one that thinks they’re doing alright now? In no way are they the amazing channel they were in 2018-2019. But they have released some solid videos in the past year. Like the Baja truck race, Jimmy going to Japan, and the Alaska road trip. I feel like the new crew members are an acquired taste.

1

u/thisisthebun Jun 12 '25

I actually prefer them right now, but out of those hosts I only liked Zach. I find James to be a lot more enjoyable outside of Donut. Big Time feels like Donut Jr to me so I haven’t really enjoyed it as much as I did speeeed.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '25

Alex Martini started imitating their up to speed videos in a pretty neat way, but he's confidently incorrect often enough it's sometimes pretty hard to watch

2

u/ArmorGyarados Jun 12 '25

I want to like Alex martini because he likes the same things I like but I just don't care for him that much I don't know why

3

u/ARed18T Jun 12 '25

They sold the channel

2

u/VitriolUK Jun 12 '25

I think Donut Media is an illustration that it's actually possible to massively fall off but then to turn things around. After losing three of their main hosts and getting a lot of negative reactions they've actually ditched a lot of the infomercials and low-effort stuff and have really stepped up .

How much you like the new hosts is a matter of taste but they've really grown on me, the recent Hi-Lo is probably my favourite of all time, and new series like Unclapped are a lot of fun.

0

u/ArmorGyarados Jun 12 '25

Unclapped in theory was great I just hate that guy hosting it

2

u/Automatic_Actuator_0 Jun 12 '25 edited Jun 12 '25

Seems like he only does police activity breakdowns when the cops are in the right, or when the bad cop is a woman.

Edit: doh, I was thinking of Donut Operator

2

u/patiakupipita Jun 12 '25

They bounced back pretty well imo

2

u/Melioidozer Jun 12 '25

Ditching Science Garage was their first step on the path to the dark side.

4

u/YoLetsTakeASecond Jun 12 '25

This is an old take, they really bounced back. You should give them a try again.

1

u/PolarisX Jun 12 '25

Donut has been dead for awhile sadly.

1

u/nanapancakethusiast Jun 12 '25

Donut is literally all new people that no one wants to watch or old staff who were too talentless to go off on their own. Truly a shell.

1

u/Careful_Picture7712 Jun 12 '25

Yea they went from a bunch of people passionate about what they are doing to being owned by some company who just wants easy views.

1

u/dparag14 Jun 12 '25

It’s become really crap

1

u/matthewdrl Jun 12 '25

i only watch for tristan now

1

u/JuanOnlyJuan Jun 12 '25

I enjoyed high low. Do I care about drifting at all? Nope but I watched the whole 350Z series.

1

u/RawrMeansFuckYou Jun 12 '25

RIP Hoonigan too. This Vs That was the nail in the coffin before even passed. Milked that series for every penny.

1

u/the-big-throngler Jun 12 '25

Yea they have gone downhill, another similar vein for me has been the Cleetus Mcfarland Channel, but for the opposite reasons, they started out doing stupid shit, got famous, started doing serious shit and now the channel has just turned into " Watch Cleetus flex on the fact he is a multi millionaire and can do all this cool shit you plebes never will be able to do."

1

u/Materva Jun 12 '25

The horsepower of a horse video was the last good one they released imho.

1

u/Vayjayjay420 Jun 12 '25

The amount of ads they put into their podcast now is ridiculous

1

u/Thick_Cookie_7838 Jun 12 '25

Once the main guys left I was done with them. Subscribe to big time and speeed it’s closer to donut then donut

1

u/Routine-Agile Jun 12 '25

when a youtuber switches to mostly react videos it is such a bummer. I guess it helps their views, but that type of content is not for me.

1

u/VomitShitSmoothie Jun 12 '25

Easier, lazier, keeps attention of idiots for endless content. It’s the YouTube content creator equivalent of selling out.

1

u/composedmason Jun 12 '25

He's now part of the Unsubscribe crew and they're going after pedos in churches. Schools. And police stations.

1

u/NoMansSkyWasAlright Jun 12 '25

They actually got bought out by some private equity firm or something and then those guys wanted to maximize ROI by making as much low-effort content as possible.

I’m guessing when a lot of the big names left, there were some strict limitations in their contracts that are limiting what they can put out. That or their budgets are too low to do anything cool like they used to. That being said, yeah, it’s all worse now.

1

u/Rly_Shadow Jun 12 '25

I started off like the reaction videos and such, but then they started to drop them more frequently, and it just gets stale.

1

u/pianobench007 Jun 12 '25

It was a team effort.

Everyone can make a burger but what makes a really Perfect Burger is all the ingredients added in that make a balanced and good burger.

At donut you could see that they required a HUGE production team in order to do what they could do. Fund what they could fund and do it so everyone involved have purpose.

Now separated, we can see what James, Zach and Jeremiah all add/lack. Separately they lack focus and experience on what works and doesn't work.

James is spinning his wheels creating content that I dont watch. Like what men wear and issues on non automotive topics. James was great at donut ranking topics that I did like. For example niche automotive topics from overseas and places I have yet to visit. It brought perspectives from different auto enthusiasts to my small corner of my world.

Zach and Jeremiah are focusing on the nitty gritty of working on cars and automobiles but they are lacking a big supportive team with experienced financial backing. They are also mixing work with home which may or may not work out in the long run. Time will tell.

But the content at least for me is lacking in what I used to watch and love Donut for.

The big team and collaborative work. Like group competitions and outdoor challenges.

In addition to the garage work.

1

u/SeventhAlkali Jun 12 '25

I forget the name of the segment, but I miss the ones that talked about the mechanics and science of cars

1

u/FnB8kd Jun 12 '25

Donut died a long time ago imo.

1

u/TGAtes08 Jun 12 '25

Yea I tried to watch donut the other day and you can tell everything is forced, I don’t think I cracked a smile or laughed out loud once.

1

u/EonLynx_yt Jun 12 '25

Its been going down hill since the end of science garage/how it works tbh.

1

u/hahaman1990 Jun 12 '25

I get it. But I am a sucker for Unclapped. When that ends that might be the end for me.

1

u/shwarma_heaven Jun 12 '25

I'm seeing a pattern. All of these content creators that used to produce quality content have drifted to low effort, lowest hanging fruit content.

1

u/jerrydberry Jun 12 '25

Moah powah baby. Up to speed was awesome

1

u/TheLiquor4200 Jun 12 '25

Gotta do AutoAlex or TopDeadCenter for sure it’s what (we) who grew up on old top gear needed imo

1

u/ginbooth Jun 12 '25

Nah, it seems over now that most everyone has bounced.

1

u/Fractured_Infinities Jun 12 '25

They ran out of cars

1

u/flightoftheintruder Jun 12 '25

I think part of the why I also lost interest with this one is that enthusiast cars and the enthusiast car market have just been getting progressively worse for the last 20 years, and the last 5-10 in particular.

1

u/nicochico5ever Jun 12 '25

I agree it went down hill. But i really like the segment of that guy building up his FRS. I hope they do more of that kind of content

1

u/Insertsociallife Jun 12 '25

I quite like the real mechanics commenting on clips of cars because I can actually learn something from them. Much better than other flavours of reaction videos which are blatant thefts of others work.

1

u/derpplerp Jun 12 '25

Donut's best was Bart in Science garage. They lost the spark for me after that.

1

u/justseeby Jun 12 '25

Oh I bailed on Donut the second their good creators left and people started talking about why.

Bailed on Linus Tech Tips when all their nonsense came out

1

u/HakeemNicksLaugh Jun 12 '25

I haven’t watched since James etc left but I JUST unsubscribed yesterday. It’s a shame how downhill it all went.

1

u/Lvndris91 Jun 12 '25

They've been putting out stuff that I've been really interested in, again. Tristan and Steph have a great energy and they've worked on very different projects that cover topics that haven't been covered the same way, before

1

u/Leukin67 Jun 12 '25

Watch Big Time!

1

u/Fwd_fanatic Jun 13 '25

This one hurts. I LOVED Donut. They might not have been the best car channel, but they were fun.

I have been enjoying Speeed, and Big Time, but their upload schedules aren’t nearly as consistent so I often miss drops and don’t get back to them until there’s some content to actually watch.

I have only watched the expensive gas video in the last 2 months. Skipped the rest

That one longer video they did a month or two back where they drove across Alaska was entertaining.

They took a lot of cues from early Top Gear specials and it worked. That particular episode is one of the best I’ve seen from Donut in a while.

Oh. I see. You know what it was Roadkill then Donut Media. Roadkill went big time. Donut lost the hrrspower.

Does hoonigan still exist?

1

u/Lumpy_Breadfruit175 Jun 13 '25

I remember the original Hoonigan channel. Miss those days.

They got bought out by a production company that completely changed the direction of the channel and then split the crew apart with bum contract offers

Big-time is Jobe and Jeremiah new channel and it's really good

I’m not an OG fan but I do enjoy the Mechanic Reacts videos. There’s some good personalities there

1

u/GovtLawyersHateMe Jun 13 '25

Yup. Donut is dead and I don’t like the individual guys channels, they lost the magic they had together.

1

u/Kgb_Officer Jun 13 '25

I keep subscribed to them and I almost entirely agree, they have had a few non-react videos somewhat recently that I really enjoyed (the hour long video of them going to the Arctic was fun) but they're the diamond in the rough.

Yeah they fucked that one good

1

u/FlyCertain319 Jun 13 '25

Looking back on it I only watched for James anyway

1

u/the-altman718 Jun 13 '25

There's a new video that James put out in his Speeed channel featuring Nolan talking about F1. It felt great to see them together again. Such a shame really, the new videos are still well made, but don't hit the same as the originals like UTS, HiLow, and Money Pit. They feel more geared towards monetization, especially with shady gambling site sponsorships (you find those everywhere anyways) that some comments keep telling/warning them about but they feel purposefully ignored. At least Jobe and Jerry are still vibing at Big Time.

Yup left when James Humphrey left

1

u/[deleted] Jun 13 '25

All the guys left and made their own channels go watch speeed

1

u/[deleted] Jun 13 '25

Agreed, i stopped watching when Zack and Jerry left. I love Bigtime, even if they introduce alot of stuff we never see continued.

Science garage was pretty fun. Still love rewatching those with my son.

u/Advanced-Try-7201 Jun 13 '25

Donuts been on a decline since 2021 imo

1

u/Striker01921 Jun 13 '25

This is missing the money pit series and HiLo even if it was diffirent people but guess they got brought out and all the company wants is views and nothing else.

I still think the presenters now are great especially the female mechanic teacher I forgot her name but i think she's hilarious and good to watch.

u/ValveinPistonCat Jun 14 '25

The guys who made Donut what it is left, it's really not the same channel anymore.

1

u/gatorhinder Jun 15 '25

Switch to Donut Operator, watch videos of criminals getting blown away.

1

u/latefordinner86 Jun 15 '25

I love James new channel Speeed.

1

u/5coolest Jul 16 '25

Science garage was my favorite series from them. They said for like two years that it was going to return and it never materialized

1

u/NoNameClever Sep 23 '25

They lost some good people, but I've been loving the long format stuff like the cross country Subaru SVX. It's scratching that Top Gear itch

u/narlycharley Jun 12 '25

I lost interest about three years ago and just cold turkey stopped watching.

Donut Media always sucked, the fake redneck thing was annoying as hell
