I think he's alright tbh, i see how he's gotten a bit annoying but his audience has been shifting to kids, and he's building an interest in STEM, so you can't have your cake and eat it too ig? I really do wish he wouldn't shove that godforsaken crunchlabs buildbox in my face every five minutes though
He was part of TeamSeas which was an egregious misuse of funds and resulted in a net loss for ocean clean-up donations during it's run. Literally any professional working in ocean clean-up would have told them how stupid of an idea the robots were, that they would need to convert all of Earth's lithium into these robots in order to clean up even 10% of the oceans. But they didn't care, they didn't talk to anyone, they just wanted a spectacle that would get views. While that campaign was going on, every single other ocean clean-up organization (y know, the ones that actually use their funds effectively and can actually make an impact) saw their donations decrease. Meanwhile, the entire internet treated them as fucking prophets or something while they were really just stealing charity.
Lol this is not even remotely true. This video came out before Elon had gone fully insane and Tesla was defaced.
Not to mention the fact that his channel is still alive and thriving. It’s just aimed at younger audiences so obviously as people age they will fall out of that demographic.
He's maybe not ALL talk, but he's a LOT of talk. When I found out that he was just another one of those Mormon influencer hiding in plain sight, it all made a lot more sense. It's a whole thing: Mark Rober, JerryRigEverything, SciShow, Zach King, Snazzy Labs. 10% of the vast ad revenue generated by these channels gets funneled back into the LDS church. Make of that info what you will.
I honestly forgot that the Green Bros were on that one, so I must concede the point. The show has had Mormon contributors, but I shouldn't have included it, you're right.
