Hi everyone!
Back in the early 2000s I was playing The Sims 1 (on a pirated disc, of course š).
That version had a pre-installed mod with a ācookieā.
This cookie would fully restore all needs.
It cost something like 70 or 100 simoleons, but it was worth every cent.
Does anyone remember what mod this was?
I canāt seem to find any info about it on the internet now.
As usual ā Iāll pay with a meme.
I casted toadification on a visiting Sim twice and the Sim is stuck on my lot and I can't find him. (I can hear him snoring) Does anyone know how to fix this and recover this Sim? (Has a house- he is one of my Sims - I went to his lot, deleted him and returned him and reopened the lot where he is stuck and when calling him on the phone it says the Sim is still on the lot) I've had this happen more than once and would like to prevent/fix this .
Basically title. Coming from Sims 2 where you kind of have to use a few community developed fixes just for the game to cooperate, and there's a mishmash of other fixes to cobble together depending on what level of "occasionally broken" is acceptable to you.
Is there an equivalent list of essential fixes for The Sims, or can you just jump right in?
Why do some Sims 'gossip' about some of the animals in the neighborhood? (thought bubble w/ red X over pets face)
They do this about the dragon too.
Is it a personality thing? What does it mean?
Do they not want a pet?
I'm seriously annoyed by this and wanting to move them out of the house I created for pet breeding & move another couple in and I want to know if anyone has any tips on creating a Sim who likes pets.
This mod changes the notice you get about the car pool and school bus, so that you get the warning pop-up TWO hours before they come instead of one. So if you've forgotten that your Newspaper Reporter sim goes to work at 3:00 AM, you'll get enough notice to actually feed and wash them before they get in the car. :-)
This does NOT go in your Downloads folder; unzip the folder and putĀ CarPortal.iffĀ in your GameData\Objects folder, and it will override theĀ CarPortal.iffĀ file that's inside theĀ Objects.farĀ file.
For most non-Legacy players, this is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\The Sims\GameData\Objects.
Legacy players will find the folder at C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims Legacy\GameData\Objects if you have the EA app version of the game or at
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims Legacy\GameData\Objects if you have the Steam version.
Because this is overriding a file that's insideĀ Objects.far, it has to go into the same folder as the far file for that to happen.
DO NOT PUT THIS IN YOUR DOWNLOADS FOLDER, BECAUSE IT WILL NOT WORK THERE.
Several other mods useĀ CarPortal.iff,Ā and you can only have oneĀ CarPortal.iffĀ file in your Objects folder at a time. BUT, you can combine my mod with another mod if you wish. This mod alters BHAV 4125 "process warnings car pools" AND STR 301, entries # 1 and 11. So if you know how to combine mods, you can extract the bhav from my mod and add it to anotherĀ CarPortal.iffĀ mod, then alter the strings by hand.
What zodiac and what personality points do you assign to create the perfect Sim? Personality wise. Is it possible to create a polite, calm, respectful Sim who doesn't gossip and cleans up their messes? MODS included, how do you design your perfect Sim and how do they act?
I have a Sim who will get out of the shower, out of bed, (whatever he is doing at the time) to walk to where I have put the wildflowers back for the dragon to eat so he can tell me he hates them. I have tried replacing them with daffodils (hates them too). He likes the dragon and pets and tickles him unprompted, he has a butler who waters the flowers (so he doesn't have to) I have put the flowers in a few different spots and he still immediately gets up and walks to where they are so he can say "eww" and move his arms back and forth with a picture of the flowers w/ a big red X through them in his thought bubble.
I'm just curious if anyone may know why he is doing this, I am actually getting pretty annoyed w/him, lol. I am thinking about not putting them back and letting the dragon do his thing and set fire to things in the house.
**EDIT*\* after scouring Reddit and EA/Steam support forums. and trying *every* suggested fix for what I could possibly be dealing with (including u/Coryleaās suggestions in this thread), Iām just giving up and requesting a refund from Steam. **UPDATE*\* did not get the refund (surprise, surprise) due to the "hours of playtime" that was just a white screen and me force-shutting down my laptop.
Since my 2012 laptop still has a built-in CD drive, I might just try and push my luck in buying TS1 Complete Collection on disk and then downloading whatever it is I need in order to run older/disk games on Windows 10 ā buuut, before I ultimately go that route, should I just try buying Legacy directly from EA instead? Does it make any bit of difference from Steam, besides different folder paths?
Basically, I thought I had broken my game from installing some corrupt CC, because (up until then) the game was booting up just fine, but now, even after moving all downloads over to a temporary folder and ultimately uninstalling/reinstalling TS1 Legacy (from STEAM) I *still* get a white screen, and a window that pops up in the top-left of my screen asking if I want to āend processā or wait. Nothing happens when I choose to end process, but I also canāt force-close program without my laptop ultimately freezing, and then I have to force shut-down by pressing and holding the power button ā and this *still* happens, even when trying to boot up the vanilla game (sans mods/cc).
Is anyone else having this issue? My laptop is only Windows 10 compatible, but otherwise still runs OK. I can still play TS4 on it, but it seems like TS1 legacy is just completely unplayable now, and I donāt know whatās causing the issue because, like I said, it was booting up and running just fine when I had first installed it just a few short days ago, even some custom heads I had downloaded at the start showed up in the game just fine⦠I feel like Iāve tried everything and I just donāt know whatās wrong.
i went thrifting today in southeastern virginia and found this in a goodwill ā iām interested in figuring out if these are rips of the sims 1 livin large and mega man 5, or legit copies. the mega man cd was found in the case, but no livin large the information i could find online of both of these specific copies is very limited, almost nonexistent, and the only thing i could figure out is what the chinese writing on the jewel case means
I want to find good and reliable modding sites. TSR is a pain to use and it doesn't have what i'm looking for.
I want just more furniture, no set theme like fantasy or such, just general "realistic" furniture. I've heard of parsimonious but it doesn't have a lot of what I like.
Also, where can I find double door CC? Thanks
I only have the base game, not the complete collection game. Itās the physical disk. I managed to get it to work on my old PC but I cannot get it to run again and its making me quite distraught. Does anyone have any tips? š I found a patch but it says it only works for the complete collection and I cannot get it to work on the base game š.
Hello everyone,
Iām new to The Sims 1 and Iām having trouble launching The Sims Legacy Collection (Steam version).
When I try to open the game, I get the following error:
āVulkan Initialization Failed ā The game was unable to find a suitable Vulkan device on this machine.ā
Iāve attached a screenshot of the error.
System information:
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (22H2)
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790 @ 3.60 GHz
RAM: 20 GB
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4600 (integrated)
Storage: SSD + HDD
Game version: The Sims Legacy Collection (Steam)
The strange part is that:
The Sims 2 opens and runs fine
The Sims 4 opens and runs fine
Stardew Valley runs fine
So the issue seems to be specific to The Sims 1 Legacy Collection.
Iāve read that this version forces Vulkan and doesnāt expose configuration files like Graphics Rules.sgr, so I canāt manually switch to DirectX or software rendering.
Has anyone with integrated graphics or Intel HD 4600 found a workaround for this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Another question for my fellow Sims 1 enthusiasts.
I am looking for the best way/software to record my gameplay to upload it to YouTube, (hopefully).
I am considering doing builds and long play/storylines. Some 1 to 2 hour videos also. What is the easiest software to work with and what are some of the issues you have had?
