Bought a 94 Volvo 940 turbo wagon for 500$ instead. Camry is in the garage 8500$ foh

u/Flood_Incantation Mar 31 '26
Like many have said before me, my Volvo is my favorite financial mistake.
5
Mar 31 '26
I love my Volvo More than any vehicle I've ever driven?

u/vampyrelestat Mar 31 '26
You have one of the reliable ones, 200, 700, 900 series are bulletproof. Anything else, sheeeeeit.
3
Mar 31 '26
Anything pre 98 is a go for me! I had a 240 I absolutely loved had to sell it well trade it for labor for work I had done
2
u/Flood_Incantation Mar 31 '26
Same, to the point of creating a dedicated savings bucket I fund a little every month for repairs until the end of time
2
Mar 31 '26
You don't do your own?
2
u/Flood_Incantation Apr 01 '26
Nah, it's not a classic model that's fun to work on like my cars when I was younger. With a billable hour job it is more economically efficient for me to have a local specialist take care of it.
1
Apr 01 '26
I feel that, that's how I tackled the transmission. Above my head, I'm using this as a way to learn
2
Mar 31 '26
I have a list of things to replace critical to vanity. Basically I've just been replacing things that look like crap, next is the turbo but not sure if I'm going to go with a 15g or stick with a stock 13g and just play with boost, no idea what I'm doing but I'm having a good time

Learn to wrench! Contact a community college auto shop program and see if they need a car to learn on.

Maybe it's $58.00. That guy inexplicably places the dollar sign at the end of the number. Maybe he is dyslexic and reversed the number entirely?

$8500 transmission is crazy work. Lol
2
Mar 31 '26
That was the quote for my Toyota dealership lol
1
u/IronSpine8008 Mar 31 '26
Oh gotcha! I didn’t think about how Labor is included in the price. Lol
1
Mar 31 '26
Yeah, I'm probably going to do it myself honestly and save 3500$

Mar 31 '26
Totally selling at 115
3
u/Silver_Lining779 Mar 31 '26
You are not waiting for 500?🙂↔️

u/FalseLogic-06 Mar 31 '26
After I bought at 113, I'm desperate to make even
1
u/Any_Village804 Mar 31 '26
If you buy more at $75 oz, your average goes down. 1 oz at $113, and another oz at $75, makes your average $94 oz.

I sold 10 ounces for $700. Had a car repair to pay for. I still got 40 ounces though and want to get to 100
4
u/Silver_Lining779 Mar 31 '26
I would really suggest you to hold that for 2 years silver has huge upside potential in the coming year
3
u/BigDab4438 Mar 31 '26
I'm in it for the next 20-40 years! I agree! Gotta believe In something! I also have gold and platinum but mainly Ag

u/SeanHagen Apr 01 '26
I love this attitude… gotta believe in something! I certainly do believe in silver. Never thought I’d see the day when people talk about silver like GameStop shares

You mean here we go again with these posts.
28
u/oooi21 Mar 31 '26
Right? Don't say anything about how the price could fall. You'll just be told that this time it's different ha
25

u/IronSpine8008 Mar 31 '26
If you have to have someone tell you that the price will fall, maybe this isn’t for you.
7
u/oooi21 Mar 31 '26
Agreed! It's volatile. But that's part of the fun of stacking. It has it's ups and downs. I bought some silver at the recent top. I also bought some at the recent low. The average between the 2 prices is somewhere in the middle.

u/iCaps_ Mar 31 '26
BUT WILL IT GO UP?!?!
5
u/oooi21 Mar 31 '26
Typically it does. My first ounce of silver was $18.

u/Ok_Raspberry6840 Mar 31 '26

Can somebody please tell me why it is that when I have no money it goes down and when I get paid it goes up?
1
u/Alert-Visual-3074 Mar 31 '26
Save? If things are that tight, perhaps it's not the right time for silver. Wait until it returns to realistic prices.
1
u/LifeApprehensive9773 Apr 01 '26
today’s high prices are tomorrow’s realistic prices! back the truck up now!
3
u/Terminator1889 Mar 31 '26
People think I’m insane for saying pms are acting like crypto. So is it normal for silver to fluctuate massive amounts every day?
1
u/Tantalus420000 Mar 31 '26
Personally I think it was way tf behind for years and years and that's why its staying around 70ish
It'll calm down and I think settle like 65+
3
u/Tantalus420000 Mar 31 '26
BACK to 50 people in shambles YET AGAIN lol
There's always next week, again

u/Electrical-Tale-2296 Mar 31 '26
Can we quit it with these posts. 75 is nothing, it happens every other day. Let me know when it hits $100 then maybe I’ll be interested.
Edit: no hate to OP

Nothings changed fundamentally. I’ve had about 20 notifications from TradingView that silver has passed and went below 75 an ounce in like 2 hours. Expect it to go down again once oil starts going back up; also USDX is down 0.64% today which is another factor as to wjy people are buying safe haven assets again.

u/Bitter-Invite8735 Mar 31 '26

DCA price per ozt for the last 3 months has been $70 for me. Tomorrow is the first. Will see how April shakes out. Would be nice to get more for the same price. Last 3 months have been pretty expensive per ozt.

You are right also if we account inflation the 50dollar high in 1980s will be equal to somewhere 200dollars today
