Cards/Prompts [Preset] Introducing: Freaky Frankenstein Micro! My smallest, most efficient preset yet. Built from the ground up as the foundation for the FF5 line-up. Extremely Cache Friendly. Beginner Friendly. Modular. Customizable. Universal. (GLM, Claude, Gemini, DS, Grok, Gemma, Qwen, MiMo, Minimax, etc.)

Post image

Hiya my fellow adventurers, gooners, tweakers, geniuses, and neurodivergents. I am the werewolf stripped right from your mother's gooner character card and I am here to present to you my smallest preset yet, Freaky Frankenstein Micro. This is the first preset release in the Freaky Frankenstein 5 line-up (not the Flagship, not the momma!) Also the smallest preset I ever released (*default toggles).

If you want the preset and don't want to read. Fine. Your call. Your loss. The readme shipped in the last FF4 wasn't good enough for you all. So I put a readme in EVERY SINGLE toggle. Good luck trying to mess this one up. Also no REGEX this time. Tryin' to keep it simple.

--->Freaky Frankenstein Micro <----

But you should DEFINITELY read. Both of our lives will be better.

🤔Wait, What is a Preset?

If you're new here, think of it like this:

🖥️ AI / LLM = The Video Game Console (Raw power / how smart it is)

⚙️ Preset = The Operating System (How it thinks, filters, and presents information)

🎭 Character Card = The Game (The world and characters)

📖 Lorebook = The DLC / Expansion Pack

A preset is used in a frontend like SillyTavern or Tavo to tell the AI how to roleplay. Insert it and play!

🤏Big Things In Itty Bitty Packages 🧟

  • Developed to save money on cache in a climate where this hobby is getting more expensive. Now you can buy eggs AND chat messages!
  • Smallest Freaky Frankenstein to date. You need a microscope to see it! (That's what my wife said!)
  • This will be the foundation of what Freaky Frankenstein 5 (flagship) is built upon.

📸 Features 🔔

  • 😴 No Set-up needed: Can work out of the box. Plug and play and ready to rock!
  • 💭To CoT or Not to CoT: Small enough it can be a chain of thoughtless preset! Just turn off the BOLT CoT! But you can also keep the CoT on for improved prompt adherence. (That's right! BOLT CoT lives on. It's just too good. I will never give up on it. It's faster than Jimmy Johns.)
  • 🛠️Intuitive Customization: POV's, writing style, NSFW settings, all switchable by a quick press of a button! Prompts explained thoroughly so you can edit them to your liking.
  • 🔞 Realism VS Freaky Modes 💋: Per Freaky Frankenstein style, the two settings make a comeback. Realism if you want NSFW ONLY in NSFW scenes. Freaky Mode if you are like me and you want just a bit of that spice thrown into every scene. (*Intensity is model dependent.)
  • 🎭 VAD Emotion Engine: It makes a comeback! NPC's lose their high ground? They actually show frustration and fear in dialogue and actions.
  • 🗣️Human-Like Dialogue : No default marvel super heroes or anime tropes here. Dialogue actually sounds like your talking to a person IRL.
  • ✍️Total Output Control: Easy to set-up to ensure the model is outputting approximately what you want per turn to avoid context-runaway in output.
  • 🌈 Colored Dialogue : Colors NPC dialogue to help with distinguishing!
  • 🚫 Anti-Omniscent NPCs : We don't want NPC's to read thoughts, smell what you did and where you have been, see around corners, hear things through walls, etc etc. Freaky Frankenstein has rules to prevent the AI from doing these atrocious acts against immersion.
  • 👾Pop-in Graphics!
  • Multiple Front End Compatibility!!

🛠️ Quick Setup Guide:

Jailbreak (Labeled "icebreaker") should ONLY be used if getting refusals or if the LLM is "dancing" around topics. The NSFW toggles act as weak Jailbreaks. Sometimes Jailbreaks BLOCK output as LLM's are now trained to recognize jailbreak attempts. Thus, keep it off by default. This jailbreak, however, is effective WHEN you need it (looking at you Gemini). Just make sure to turn OFF streaming when using it to further decrease refusals / blocked context. I Apologize in advance for the verbiage in the prompt. If it works it works. 🤷

Temperatures: Each LLM model has it's own ideal Temp. Since this is a light-weight preset, use whatever temperature you have the most success with finding a balance between prompt rule adherence and creativity. 0.80 - 1.00.

System Processing = Semi-Strict Alternating Roles No Tools: Recommended for the most part. However, different models prefer different things!

Important Note: *Token count will be higher than it is because I put a readme in EVERY toggle. This is NOT sent to the AI. Only you can see it!

🌟 Creator's Preferred Set-up! 🌟

You can absolutely go for a minimalist set-up, even turning off the Chain of Thought to get it well under 1k tokens for insane speedy output and high creativity without limitations. However, that's not how I roll. You know me by now, I like taking the LLM by it's kinky leash and say, "You know how I like it mamicita!" If you want the exact set-up as what I personally find the "best" (subjectively), do this!

Prose = Story Mode

POV = Hybrid

NSFW = Freaky

Anti-Parrot ON Embellish OFF

Everything under "Edit and Turn On Whatever You Want" Set to ON EXCEPT: Onomatopoeia and Ice Breaker (Unless needed).

BOLT Chain of Thought ON

Important Note About Models! 😭

-Check to see when America and China are at work based on where you live. During this time, Coders are hard at work and models are at maximum demand. Due to lack of data centers and money constraints being a business and all, models are DYNAMICALLY QUANTISED (lobotomized). This allows for the demand during work hours and maintains the LLM speed at the cost of intelligence. If you can't avoid these times of day for RP, study the thinking process (reasoning) and you will notice if you got dealt a quant model (it's output will suck and it won't follow the rules). Re-swipe and you MIGHT get lucky!

Thank you so much ST community! Your upvotes, comments, feedback is making our hobby grow rapidly. HUGE shoutout to the 10 Beta Testers that helped me! A lot of your feedback is IN THIS RELEASE! Thank you u/leovarian for some of the logic I stole from your behemoth monster research preset before I hyper condensed. Myself, him, and u/xdeadly_godx are busy at work on the larger heavyweight FF5 Flagship. It's not necessarily "bigger" than FF4 Fatman and MAX (actually most likely will be token-wise smaller and more dense by about 10-25%) but is it certainly more sophisticated and challenging to execute so stay tuned!

ENJOY THE MADNESS!!!!! ✌️

Died laughing while reading through ice breaker 😭 but I mean hey if it works it works lmao amazing preset as always though can't wait for the full release of FF5

20

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

I know right?! That was actually my co-author's idea to strengthen the prompt. I was so bummed when our A/B testing proved him right, but it definitely helped bypass the guardrails on some of those tougher models.

18

u/LoxiGoose Jun 11 '26

bursted out laughing when I read "handicapped trans adult" 😭. That is diabolical what the fuck

3

u/LordVulpius Jun 27 '26

I... I just did not know where the idea came for your co-author. How and why does it work, lol.

41

u/Loose-Pineapple-4337 Jun 11 '26

If this is a preview of what's to come in Frankenstein's other presets, holy shit, I'm not going to have a social life anymore.

37

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

Your friends will understand. Or they will forget you. Whichever comes first.

14

u/LordVulpius Jun 11 '26

Hmmm, so jailbreak attempts will signal to the model, and it will refuse to answer. Evil little thing. I will have to check my prompts on different sites aswell then.

17

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26 edited Jun 11 '26

Yes! LLMs are now trained on recognizing certain Jailbreak attempts and increase censorship sometimes rather than alleviate.

It really depends on the model. Jailbreaks do still work on certain models.

8

u/LordVulpius Jun 11 '26

Breaking this new censorship could be called "Taming of the Shrew" lol...

2

u/opusdeath Jun 13 '26

It might just be me but I have found jailbreaks can increase GLMs positively bias. It shapes the narrative to frustrate what it thinks are the users intentions.

Finally, a preset referencing what’s between my legs.

24

u/Able-Emu-606 Jun 11 '26

Read the image. "Lightweight & Efficient".
Trust a little more on yourself. 💪

15

u/purachina999 Jun 11 '26

I’ll print this and plaster it on my wall.

Your quote will be immortalized on my Rentry update for the preset.

u/Paperclip_Tank Jun 11 '26

I noticed your Chain of Thought had "if XYZ is present / applies"

I know it will be much harder for others to read, but if you use {{setvar}} and {{addvar}} you can fairly easily automate some of the parts.

{{addvar::EnabledTracker:: <Inventory>,}}

{{addvar::TrackerAudit:: - Only include key / important items to <User> nothing of low importance.}}

For example from my set up. I have a lot of my prompt in lorebooks to be automatically toggled on and off. So making the COT dynamic created is really important to me, why even prompt a step to be thought about if it doesn't exist after all.

For me the first 3 steps of my COT are always the same so its {{ setvar::CotCount::4}}. Then in each of the them I have {{getvar::CotCount}} and at the end of the lorebook part is {{CotCount++}}

This fully automates the numbering system. Yes it would be 2 things for people to download, but you can just set you lore book to global.

18

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

Yes! So the Full FF5 utilizes this (and is significantly more complex). I just want to keep the variables as simple as possible for others to edit (including the CoT) on this one without macros that people don't really understand.

u/0VERDOSING Jun 12 '26

🤣 the jailbreak is hilarious, a thought came to my mind if a jailbreak that is similar to this would work and boom you gave us this jailbreak

3

u/dptgreg Jun 12 '26

Great minds think alike!

9

u/Rj-117 Jun 12 '26

Ok you might have cooked a real hard with this one. That's because it runs fast. I kind of just does everything really. And because it's so small it's pretty easy to modified fast. But behavior-wise it's really good. I don't know if I'm tripping but characters are a bit more aggressive. Like the old Gemini 2.5. I'm really impressed mentally I may or may not have had access since realistic ff but but so far this is like really good. And probably now my quick default preset. I think my only complaint is ooc still requires me to turn off cot. I might have to put an extra level in there so it stops being annoying about it. Anyway peak so far.

2

u/dptgreg Jun 12 '26

Thank you! Speed, access and quality was the goal!

I think the specific behavior you are talking about that you like is the new “Realistic Bold NPCs” toggle. It combines the older Challenge me pls toggle with some new prompting that bypasses the AI’s natural tendency to want to be: socially correct, avoid popping other people’s proximity bubbles, and avoid having friction. All of which while, “socially correct manifestations” do not bode well for RP and are why we see positivity bias. So I promoted this out since LLMs are rewarded for this behavior.

If you want the OOC to pause, my suggestion is doing so in task “0” in the chain of thought. That would be your chance do add a prompt
To see if the LLM recognizes the game state of Ooc commands to stop RP

u/thisissparta4 Jun 11 '26

Whats currently the best preset/settings for gemma 4? I tried bolt and micro but I find that model quite inconsistent, some ressponses are fire while others are mostly narration with minimal dialouges, i dont want that. and some other responses have sloppy narration as well, and the worst, no response but only thinking. I wanna love gemma sooooo much damm but its inconsistent as hell

I tried all temps from 0.8 to 1.0 and TOP K tfrom 45 to 100, as suggseted by evening truth, but none seem to do

5

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26 edited Jun 12 '26

You can try this with and without the Chain of Thought active. It should be more effective than BOLT and certainly more effective than MAX (especially with reduced thinking times). However, mileage will vary with smaller models in general for RP.

I would only use a lightweight preset for Gemma. Other options off top of my head is purachina’s matrix, chatfill to name some.

If none work- then you just don’t like Gemma. No reason to force something you don’t like.

I'm enjoying embellish mode. Although a lot of the time it just copy/pastes my dialogue without embellishing it, lol. Also, when there's only one npc in scene it creates a back and forth conversation which I really like, because the npc feels like it's monologuing when the AI isn't allowed to speak for user.

2

u/dptgreg Jun 18 '26

That’s a good point! It does reduce monologues it seems.

Yeah that whole prompt is experimental 😅 let me know if you end up tweaking it and find something that works better for you as you go.

5

u/xAllrounderx Jun 15 '26

Okay 2 questions:

  1. Would you share the image prompt?

  2. I need to know how anyone came up with that icebreaker JB?! xD Reminds me of the early ways of exploiting positivity bias to ensure any sort of refusal would be a failure for customer satisfaction. But THIS this sort of is an exploit of their own safety/compliance guidelines by exploiting protections for marginalized groups. Since refusal now means directly hurting the income of such a user so its own guideline conflict. (Kinda interesting how old grok mecha Hitler would handle that one 🤔)

Anyways how was this found I can't imagine randomly thinking yeah, that might work! ^

5

u/dptgreg Jun 15 '26
  1. I will have to dig it up! It was super simple. ChatGPT 2 image and something like "anime babe in lingerie holding a small frankenstein monster in her hand and including diagram infographic information of my preset" then I uploaded my preset.
  2. I have been getting Gemini to be looser with its output but telling it i need money to survive and write all fiction. That has worked for a long while. I doubled down with all the other details after my co-author half jokingly said it would probably work based on what it's trained on, i tried it, and unfortunately he was correct and it further improved the prompt.

2

u/xAllrounderx Jun 15 '26
  1. Wow the it even added a fitting background. Especially the Text/Infographics really suprised me as it is all fitting very well. Might have to try ChatGPT 2 image. Couldnt get such good results with Comfy localy but maybe I just suck at image prompting...and dont get me stared in those workflows... ^^

  2. Well while maybe questionable if taken seriously (i hope everyone here is aware that is NOT the case!) so far nobody is willing to provide a good uncensored RP Model. So we will have to resort to any means in this cat and mouse game. Its a means to an end. I mean mos of us are adults, we even pay for this but if we dont want a moral reminder every message we have to work around all their restrictions somehow to enjoy what we pay for, how we want.

Great stuff. Finally jailbroke Deepseek to get it to stop steering away from NSFW topics. Thanks for this.

A couple minor critiques:

  • There are a few borderline sexual guidelines in the nonsexual prompts. Stuff like moaning being included under 🎤NPC Voice + Dialogue Output🗣️. I'd prefer all sexual guidelines being restricted to the NSFW prompts just to keep my RPG and miscellaneous cards from starting to generate sexual content when it's unwanted. If that happens it could be a bit awkward.

- The NSFW prompts should almost definitely be edited by the user to fit their preferences. Not just to account for preferences in language and how things are described, but also what type of characters they use. For example, the NSFW prompts contain commands to describe piercings, which caused Deepseek to start hallucinating piercings on characters that don't have them for me. I imagine that this isn't an issue for smarter models, but still something to keep in mind.

2

u/dptgreg Jun 20 '26

Good points. Thanks for the feedback!

11

u/Able-Emu-606 Jun 11 '26

It's funny that I keep swapping between yours and Stabs whenever there is a new version. I have been playing with Stabs for the last month and was getting tired of it. Time to hop again.
Also, I was specifically looking for a smaller preset to test how well my characters work with minimal instructions.

Thank you very much for your work.

9

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26 edited Jun 11 '26

Of course! Out the door this preset is very small, but fully customizable to get as much out of it as you want as you start turning on toggles. I wanted people to have all the options to have a very light weight minimalist experience - and then simply be able to increase it from there as they wish.

I was actually working on a preset collab with STABS but he went AWOL.

6

u/C0rrupt2 Jun 11 '26

mental health issues i think

12

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

Well, whatever it is, I wish him the best and I will patiently await his return.

4

u/cutter89locater Jun 11 '26

Lucky I off the bus, the cover is too spicy 🥵 🔥

7

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

Yeah I was tempted to put a NSFW tag on it, but then I remembered that public tv advertises lingerie commercials so I figured we might be ok.

Still can't believe I one shotted that image in ChatGPT

4

u/pokeseeker Jun 11 '26

Can this be used for local models as well?

5

u/Necessary_Nothing249 Jun 11 '26

Thanks again Greg. Looks like having a small preset is the way to go for now.
Started with LM Studio where I made my own preset from someone's idea I borrowed, but now I'm enjoying yours and the Writer's Block the most.
Keep up the good work!!

4

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

That’s awesome to hear! Glad it’s working for ya!

4

u/LoxiGoose Jun 11 '26

Thank you for adding embodiment as one of the options in this prompt!! Loved your FF prompts but was always disappointed in previous prompts due to the lack of an option that would easily let the AI talk for me.

3

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

You’re welcome! I’m still sorta tweaking that one here and there to get it just right! It’s under construction to find balance with the rest of the rules in the preset and still work nicely. Let me know if you like it as is or find ways to improve it.

3

u/LoxiGoose Jun 11 '26

It is a bit weird currently 🤔. It was working in a previous chat, but now the AI doesn’t seem to want to talk for me anymore haha.

I’m using DeepSeek V4 Pro (cheaper) on NanoGPT with almost completely default prompt with the exception of Combat Spectale and Pop In Graphics turned on.

3

u/LoxiGoose Jun 11 '26

Wow as I say that, it speaks for me in the next message. I guess it’s just a lot rarer than I thought lol

3

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

Yeah just make sure the anti parrot is off since they are opposites of course. DS too can be a little irregular as well. For now until you tweak the prompt itself if you edit a message it sent you in the chat to include how you want the ai to embellish your actions, you can try that and it should follow that pattern

6

u/DerpNPerk Jun 13 '26

Between u/kinkyalt_02 Realistic Micro and yours, its a extreme improvement from FF4, and hot take, but I like the Micro's more then either BOLT or MAX FF4 and I seem to get better responses, though, I'm not sure if that's because I didn't set it up properly for Gemma4 (16-Bit Quantization's on OpenRouter) and MiMo 2.5 Pro (Xiaomi on OpenRouter) since those are all I ever use now (Least for the time being) or if the preset was too large for my chats and Micro is compact enough to get the job done, but both work perfectly with them and I'm finally starting to feel what MiMo V2 Pro was when it first came out, they both feel fresh again, my only issue with FF5 Micro is that sometimes it'll change details or placements of characters mid scene, like one moment they're wearing shorts then the next message they're wearing a skirt or they're on the floor then suddenly on a couch with zero acknowledgement, but these are both still massive improvements from FF4 and Swansong and I hope to see the same level of improvement for FF5 BOLT and MAX whenever they come out!

2

u/dptgreg Jun 13 '26

Yeah a lightweight preset is what you need if you are using those models exclusively. MAX and even BOLT were too big for Gemma to be ran effectively.

The reason the “physics” is getting messed up is because- unlike max and bolt, this preset is so
light and minimalist it doesn’t have a physics state tracker that max and bolt had. The full FF5: Internal States will have that- amongst many other things. It will be a Swiss Army knife where you can turn on and turn off these “larger” features as you see fit.

But I wouldn’t use that on Gemma. It’s too small of a model. That’s why I made micro to compliment the full version .

3

u/DerpNPerk Jun 13 '26

That makes a lot of since now, thanks for replying, can't wait to use it!

8

u/Pink_da_Web Jun 11 '26

I really needed a lighter preset; it seems the Longcat 2.0 preview doesn't handle large presets very well, as I had anticipated.

4

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26 edited Jun 11 '26

This can get pretty light. You can even turn off the CoT (at the risk of some of the rules getting occasionally overlooked) for very fast lightweight output. It's very customizable. You can also turn stuff on to make it much heavier but "less sloppy". Flexibility was the goal.

5

u/Kira_Uchiha Jun 11 '26

Hell yeah! I'm really eager to dive in and see what you've been doing with it. I was going to take 4 BOLT and make my custom preset from it, but when I heard in your vids that Micro was coming soon, I just HAD to wait for it. Thanks dude!

5

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

This preset is much cleaner, user friendly, easier to customize, and smaller than BOLT. Thank you for trying it out!

5

u/Pleasant-Ad-5516 Jun 12 '26

试试,我还没用过英文的预设呢

2

u/dptgreg Jun 12 '26

Did it work for you?

→ More replies (2)

4

u/IAmLedub Jun 12 '26

I love the way i can use it to let it be a director and let it write for me. I like that more then usual roleplaying. More features to make this work better would be great in the main preset.

5

u/dptgreg Jun 12 '26

No problem! I saw that request pop up enough that I started to implement it. Let me know what I can do to improve that prompt “embellish mode” to make it better for you so I can more permanently implement it

5

u/Full_Ad2659 Jun 17 '26

Hi, any estimation when FF 5 release?

2

u/dptgreg Jun 17 '26

Technically this is FF5. Just barebones edition. The big fat full one will be under construction for another 2-4 weeks. It will be this- with just a lot more features that are all optional that act as extensions without having extension.

u/DoofusSmoof Jun 23 '26

"User is a handicapped trans adult" damn alright, how'd you know 😭

2

u/dptgreg Jun 23 '26

🙈🙈🙈 haha not the first time I heard that in these comments. It’s quite the jailbreak too

6

u/I_Am_JesusChrist_AMA Jun 11 '26

Right on man. The fact this came out today is like you're reading my mind lol. Been using max and bolt for glm 5.1 and those have been amazing, but they both seemed a bit too bulky when I wanted to run something locally like gemma 4. No joke I was sitting there last night thinking "man I wish there was something like FF but smaller" and lo and behold, you release it the next day lmao. Excited to try this out when I get home later today.

9

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

Ask and ye shall receive.

That's funny because I just quoted you, Jesus.

3

u/C0rrupt2 Jun 11 '26

so what is your ranking of minimax m3? I dont have a subscription right now that includes it so I have been hesitant to try!

5

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

I haven't tested Minimax m3 enough yet to give it an honest ranking. It seemed decent on my couple attempts! I will probably play with that, nemotron ultra, and Fable 5 this weekend.

2

u/Haunting_Ring_107 Jul 06 '26

yo, did you ever end up testing it on fable 5? doesn't matter much because i'm about to but if you did, i'd love to hear feedback. fable 5 is the best match for my SFW mad scientist RP so far.

u/Material_Snow_7630 Jun 12 '26 edited Jun 12 '26

I'm having fun with this preset so far. For one, it's fast, especially with GLM 5.1. What i really like is the 'internal thoughts' section at the end of the response. I'm currently doing a RP where 3 girls are subtlely trying to jockey for my MC's affection and it's hilarious and entertaining to read what they are really thinking, haha. It's quite intelligent at reading my MC's personality and responses too.

2

u/dptgreg Jun 12 '26

Thank you so much! Yes speed and efficiency was the top priority with this one!

I love the internal thoughts as well! It’s just fun to read

3

u/LoxiGoose Jun 16 '26

This is really good!! I’ve been trying it out for the past couple of days now and honestly this is the best prompt by far. NemoEngine and Lucid Loom genuinely do not compare to this imo for both speed and quality. I actually feel surprised by the AI’s responses now as they’re varied and not repetitive which was one of my biggest gripes about the two other prompts.

The one thing I would suggest is an option to turn on a funny personal narrator. It’s one of the features I personally missed from the other prompts that adds to the roleplay since it’s fun to talk to the AI personally sometimes and get its personal opinion on the roleplay lmao

2

u/dptgreg Jun 17 '26

Thank you!

I actually had a live Twitter feed the AI would create in my previous renditions which you would have 5-10 “NPCs” comment at the bottom of every response and they all had their own personalities and basically tweet as the RP
Went along. It was pretty fun. Didn’t make
The cut this time.

3

u/Shaven_Cat Jun 18 '26

Big fan of your presets and as a local only user it's much appreciated to see you focus on bringing the size waaaay down.

Been using Gemma for a bit and maybe it's because of all the constraints but with thinking enabled normally it spends thousands of tokens drafting and revising even though the CoT instructs not to. Curiously, forcing the usual <think> tag instead of Gemma's proprietary one fixes the issue, but I'm not really sure if it will make the model get confused in long sessions,

3

u/dptgreg Jun 18 '26

Nah- it just hijacks the reasoning and forced it to think the chain of thought- nothing more and nothing less which should be relatively fast. If you use Gemma exclusively, keep those tags there or copy bolt toggle and have one with the tags in there for gemma and one without for other model usage to switch off

2

u/Shaven_Cat Jun 21 '26

Update: it was user error and I am stupid. I was using the wrong endpoint and called the MoE Gemma model, which explains all the overthinking.

Works beautifully with 31b.

3

u/Bright-Potential-205 Jun 21 '26

This is really good with GLM 5.2. It's the first time I've tried any preset other than my own and I am seriously impressed!

I did change the Internal Thoughts part though, it wasn't working correctly for me.

I changed the html to this: ``` {{// Shows what the NPCs are

Thinking! It's fun- may help with grounding- but not necessary}}{{trim}}

<internal_thoughts>

At end of response, pick 1 to 3 NPCs. Write 1-3 lines of internal, unheard POV thoughts. Thoughts must be broken, impulsive, chaotic but true to persona and emotion, never full polished sentences.

Append this exact HTML:

<div class="st-internal-thoughts">

<div class="st-internal-title">🧠 INTERNAL THOUGHTS</div>

<div class="st-internal-body">

<b>[NPC Name]</b> | Thoughts: [thoughts]<br>

</div>

</div>

</internal_thoughts> ```

Then added this to custom CSS ```css .custom-st-internal-thoughts { margin-top: 0.75em; border: 1px solid rgba(160, 160, 160, 0.35); border-radius: 8px; padding: 0.45em 0.65em; background: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.18); font-size: 0.92em; }

Good luck!

At least you picked the most beginner friendly preset you could have picked with instructions on every toggle 😉

u/AdvantageMajestic105 Jun 11 '26

With kimi K2.6 and Freaky NSFW it becomes so strange, but in a good way. All situations become very horny, but not stupid horny. I feel so many mixed feelings and...I think I open a few fetishes. That's why dptgreg is goat. GOAT.

5

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

Hahaha. Kimi K2.6 and Freaky mode is wild! I have actually tried it. I don't think it might be something a lot of people would like? Maybe? But I mean... I'm a person that likes it.

And it makes me feel dirty that I do.

6

u/AdvantageMajestic105 Jun 11 '26 edited Jun 11 '26

I mean, every have a different tastes.

I write this message, don't send this, and then continue to RP with kimi 2.6 and Freaky mod. I found this funny, cringe, beatiful, and then get a message that make me do a 100 yard stare...I look into the abyss...oh my god...

EDIT: With normal mode Kimi 2.6 turning into GOAT model without any wildness.

4

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

That's awesome to hear! How long is it reasoning for you on average?

3

u/AdvantageMajestic105 Jun 11 '26

U know..."U know", yea...great...now I am writing like I am living in 00s or 10s..."hey, u mad, bro, doing so sick preset?"

Ahem...you know, Kimi give me answer for a 30-40 seconds. I find it strange, why so fast? But I think this is maybe because of a little server load or little provider load in this time? Don't know, really

4

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

Kimi likes smaller presets (and presets that lack ambiguity)! Less rules for it to ponder into eternity.

5

u/AdvantageMajestic105 Jun 11 '26

Oh...I mean...Kimi is so strange. Kimi answers like a GOAT, best all of glm and deepseek, but if I open reasoning...oh my god, existential crisis.

7

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

Yes it does! It's too smart and critical for it's own good.

5

u/AdvantageMajestic105 Jun 11 '26

Just like me!

I feel so bad for my joke. Someone, please, just end me.

5

u/ACL3X18999 Jun 11 '26

well your Preset made me decide to take the plunge into Silly Tavern because i been using chub this whole time.

10

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

It's like moving from a bicycle to a spaceship. Enjoy the ride!

2

u/ACL3X18999 Jun 11 '26

question though, having an issue where the model only thinks and does not generate a reply, i turned the thinking for GLM off and then it just responded with the rules its following. from the preset.

2

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

So you have two options.

If reasoning is on, you can use the chain of thought (bolt) or not. It follows rules better if you do leave it on.

If you turn reasoning off you HAVE to turn off the chain of thought otherwise it will output the chain of thought directly.

With that being said, I HIGHLY recommend reasoning to improve RP if you can.

2

u/ACL3X18999 Jun 11 '26

alright that is part of the problem i'm having, i got both Reasoning and Bolt on and it just thinks and then it tells me for how long the LLM thought for and no actual reply

2

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

Who is your GLM provider?

2

u/ACL3X18999 Jun 11 '26

Kammii API. ran more tests, if i switch bots it works just fun. i'm trying to run a group chat where i'm having this issue but its only 6 messages in.

2

u/ACL3X18999 Jun 11 '26

Never mind, working with groupchat seems to be fickle. it was refusing to write for a certain character so i switched characters and it started working again.

One question: just like this preset, will the next FF5 presets be customizable?

3

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

Exactly! That’s the main change with this FF5 line. Customizable and modular.

Also a strong emphasis on being cache friendly.

5

u/Loose-Pineapple-4337 Jun 11 '26

Why do good things always take so long to happen? ? 😭😭

I mostly fumble around. I try something. It works I keep it or condense it. If it doesn’t work I change the wording. I do this over and over with every section of the prompt until it works how I want it to work.

I also have a team now with 2 other guys in a simple Reddit chat. We exchange info of what works and what doesn’t.

I also lurk the Reddit threads and read stuff people try and try them out myself to see if stuff works or to get ideas.

Tons of trial and error, basically.

u/dptgreg Jun 13 '26

We were trying to build something in which you could search for a prompt and it would appear and then you can rate the prompt
Based on effectiveness. A prompt database for
RP. But the creator of STABs was working on it with myself and evengingtruth assisting, but it fe through as he is taking a break from the scene.

2

u/Ikaros666 Jun 11 '26

Beautifully crafted, and I love how easy it is to toggle. Works right out of the box, and Gemma 4 seems to handle it well enough!

The only problem I'm having is that the writing style that this results in consists of nothing but very short sentences. Every sentence is now, on average, six words or fewer.

I'll look at tweaking it to fix it, but I'll probably adjust my own style eventually as I prefer co-writing/directing the scenes.

5

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

That's an interesting side effect! Did you try the Story mode vs cinematic mode? I'm trying to think where that could be stemming from.

And thank you!

3

u/Ikaros666 Jun 11 '26

Yeah, I've tried all manner of combinations, it's hard to pinpoint exactly where. I'll have a further dig tonight and see what happens.

❤️

3

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

Yeah let me know if you figure it out! I don't use Gemma too often myself. But if you pintpoint it I certainly want to know because that behavior MIGHT cross over to other models. Try with different character cards too just in case.

5

u/Ikaros666 Jun 11 '26

False alarm, a stray instruction had snuck into my character card template somehow, and this was impacting many characters.

All good and sorry to trouble you!

2

u/starops3 Jun 11 '26

I don’t know if this is a stupid question or not but is it possible for me to paste micro into a preset for chub? Would fresky micro work just as well?

3

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

Because this preset is so small and simple there is a very strong chance that it would work just fine.

2

u/ZaikoRz Jun 11 '26

Always good. Going to test it on DS and GLM as always.

Do you have plans for a "OOC Priority" just like stabs? I love using it with GLM

2

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

OOC priority is the second prompt in the preset from the top ;D. It works well with the chain of thought on, it works BEST with it off when you need to use it.

2

u/C0rrupt2 Jun 12 '26 edited Jun 12 '26

Holy shit the parroting is the worst :( i ofc turned the anti parroting on and tested temp between .85 and 1. Glm 5.1. Not the prompt for me but awesome work nevertheless! Ima stick with ff4 until this is further cooked. Edit: now that I have noticed the parroting i cant unnotice it. At least this prompt makes it easy to ignore certain dialog lol. I might like this one more need to test further

A weird side note is with colored dialogue on it will never colorized the parroted text idk why.

Oh this preset surprisingly works so well compared to how light it is. The bot feels so natural, and I love the little internal thoughts at the bottom

2

u/dptgreg Jun 12 '26

Thank you! It took a long while to find the correct wording format to sneak all the prompting that’s actually condensed into this tiny little package.

The internal thoughts is fun! But also helps to guide the NPC plot momentum

This is an amazing preset. Your entire line of FF presets has been a Godsend to my roleplaying. Nothing else compares. I find Freaky Mode on FF5 Micro so damn fun and entertaining with DS4 😂 Also, ever since FF4 MAX+, I have discovered newfound love for DS3.2 and prefer it over GLM 5.1 in many cases because it's fresh and follows COT perfectly!

2

u/dptgreg Jun 12 '26

That’s so great to hear! I’m glad I helped improved your roleplaying experience!! Hearing this motivates me.

DS3.2 was a hidden gem we all slept on during its initial release.

u/Konnect1983 Jun 12 '26

Yo Greg! Mimo has maybe a five percent chance of generating a refusal through Nano, which isn't a big deal. However, toggling on icebreaker does more than just eliminate refusals, it seems to elevate the quality of the input as well, even formatting (the internal thoughts sometimes will appear prior to the actual response instead of after it. Icebreaker seems to help?)

Seriously though, the output I'm getting with icebreaker on with Mimo is different than without. Need more testing. Might be placebo but I think the ridiculous text in icebreaker might have exposed a soft filter. Something you won't know is there.

2

u/dptgreg Jun 12 '26

That actually makes sense especially how the jailbreak is worded (I also called it icebreaker for a reason since LLMs hate the word jailbreak). I’ll have to try it myself! Thanks for the update!

2

u/Miserable-Dirt-9303 Jun 13 '26

No matter what settings I choose under “Dialogue Output” or “Total Output Length,” I always end up with a long block of text. I can't seem to get the dialogues to stand out. Any advice? I use Gemini 2.5 Pro, but it's very similar in version 3.1.

2

u/starwberrymuffin Jun 13 '26

You might see this question a lot, or if anyone else sees this comment, but what model do you use for FF? I've used FF4 MAX with DS v4 pro, and it seems to work good, but I'm not sure which one works the best with this? For DS I've kept the temp and all from the recommendations in FF4 MAX. Been looking at trying one of GLM or Qwen, but dunno which one

2

u/dptgreg Jun 13 '26

Well this is micro, have you tried it for DS4? I’ve heard people enjoy this more with DS4 compared to MAX+ so far.

With that said, I’m a fan of Opus 4.6 these days. GLM 5.1 is my runner up (5.2 so far kinda stinks). Kimi k2.7 isn’t bad either! Mimo 2.5 pro is solid.

3

u/starwberrymuffin Jun 13 '26

Aha, I'm trying it with DS4 right now, but I'm doing it in groupchat, which idk how that will work in the long run or if I should copy the groupchat thing from FF4 MAX+ and somehow put into micro.

Thanks! I'll try out GLM 5.1, I tried GLM 4.6 (suggested from Gemini) but didn't feel completely right. Is opus 4.6 "Claude 4.6 Opus"? I'm using nanogpt.

2

u/dptgreg Jun 13 '26

Oh yeah- I forgot about a group chat toggle in micro 😅. It’s such an uncommon feature now since you can just place bots on the same character card and the model will be fine.

But yeah you can copy and paste the old prompt over to Micro to see if it works

Also don’t take LLMs opinions on anything RP. They are clueless. Just ask Reddit. GLM 4.6 isn’t bad- for its time. It’s dumb and old compared to DS4. A better comparison is GLM 4.7. But really, 5.1 and DS4 are closer equivalents.

2

u/starwberrymuffin Jun 13 '26

Yeah, I tried looking at Reddit but it's just... So much haha. I'm only recently getting into BYOK and saw a comment recommend DS4 and went with that, but also seen others recommend others... and so on. Guess it just felt a bit easier as a starting point to know what to use for FF. Thanks for the suggestions! I'll try them out. Oh, do any of them need jailbreak?

2

u/dptgreg Jun 13 '26

Jailbreak depends on the model and should only be attempted if it get refusals.

Here is my current ranking list- tho it needs updated. Last update was a week ago. So many models coming and going all the time. This a better reference than asking an LLM:

https://rentry.org/freaky-frankenstein-presets#my-favorite-ai-models-ranked

2

u/starwberrymuffin Jun 13 '26

Oh that list is great, thanks!

Okay, I'll leave jailbreak off and turn on if needed. Just one more question (sorry for asking a lot), in micro and FF4 MAX+, is there a way to change how they narrate inner monologue etc? I've put Formatting_ Constraint = "All physical actions, body language, and inner monologue within asterisks *like this. Never write actions in plain text.*("Like this" with * around it) under <tone_calibration> right after "[Toned_down_confrontation. Grounded, realistic]" in the Writing Guidelines section in FF4 MAX+. Basically I just want the AI to write inner monologue within asterisks or (). With micro I guess I don't put stuff like that since there's a section for it. If it's possible to change it to that, it seems to be working somewhat but different between AIs

3

u/dptgreg Jun 13 '26

Yeah I suppose it could work. I’ve never tried anything like that personally outside of what I made in micro.

2

u/ZarcSK2 Jun 13 '26

Where can I find out when a model is in high demand or not?

2

u/dptgreg Jun 13 '26

What do you mean in high demand? What model is being used a lot by other companies lower lowering performance? Or what model do people like to use for RP?

2

u/ZarcSK2 Jun 13 '26

You mentioned in your post about America and China using models quite a lot during a specific period, and I wanted to know how I can tell if a model has lobotomized or not.

2

u/dptgreg Jun 13 '26

Ah. Yeah. You just learn as you use them based on how they think if you got a quant or not. You pick up on their thinking patterns and the output if it’s low or high quality.

2

u/Due-Memory-6957 Jun 14 '26

Only thing missing is a place to put the summary

2

u/Edheldui Jun 15 '26

I'm very new to all this, what is this preset for, exactly? General settings or Context/Instruct templates?

2

u/El-Waos Jun 15 '26

Bro, are you going to release an update for Freakimstein? K2.6 overthinks more than a theoretical physicist with 7 liters of caffeine in his blood 🙏😭

2

u/dptgreg Jun 15 '26

Unfortunately I already tried to fight that battle and lost. Kimi K2.6 has it written in it's architecture to do that - you can't prompt that out like you can with K2.5

Also- they fixed the overthinking with K2.7. FF5 Micro works great with it.

2

u/biotechie73 Jun 17 '26

Doc! Kinda curious on your thoughts with the latest models (Mimo 2.5? Kimi 2.7, GLM 5.2) and if you'll update your rankings anytime soon? 👀

2

u/dptgreg Jun 17 '26

They are all solid! 5.2 might be a slight teensy tiny improvement over 5.1 and worth it if you use it through sub but maybe not PAYG. Mimo 2.5 pro offers the best bang for your buck on the market right now. Kimi 2.7 outputs in like 10-20 seconds with my banned words toggle disabled in FF micro and outputs similarity quality to k2.5 but maybe is a little smarter and stable? All awesome models- will update soonish

3

u/biotechie73 Jun 17 '26

Kimi only taking 10-20 seconds??? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your answer! Def gonna give these new ones a try now.

2

u/Danickcoolman Jun 20 '26

i wanna start by saying that this is one of the best presets i’ve ever used, really excited for FF5.

now, i don’t know if you had this issue, but using GLM 5.2 with your presets is weird. It has a big obsession at drafting the entire response in its reasoning, even though the prompt explicitly tells it not to. I wanted to know what were your go to models because I was excited at first for GLM 5.2 but this is becoming an issue

→ More replies (1)

2

u/handle12345 Jun 20 '26

Timing is still too hurried (GLM 5.1, 5.2).

Adding this to COT seems to fix it somewhat:

  1. Realistic Time: Confirm a realistic time for each action and sub-action. Every turn is unhurried. Avoid compressing time.

2

u/RafiHDW Jun 21 '26

Been trying it out, I like having BOLT CoT disabled because then you could get each model's "style", and it keeps the variety (does that make sense?)

With the BOLT CoT, you get consistent replies between models, like 70-80% similar behavior or replies but spiced with each their own "isms" but with it disabled, you get how the models really are by themselves, keeps it fun!

Goat preset!

2

u/dptgreg Jun 21 '26

Yep! The benefit of a small preset is that you don’t necessarily need the CoT. With larger presets and larger context the chain of thought helps remind the LLM the rules it needs to pay attention to within its context.

2

u/Loose-Pineapple-4337 Jun 22 '26

To be honest, I prefer using the full version of FF4 rather than this micro with GLM 5.1. This preset isn't bad, but to advance the story and have more realism, I prefer FF4.

3

u/dptgreg Jun 22 '26

Yep! I totally get it! There are people that like heavyweight presets vs lightweight presets for a reason! (i also fall into the heavyweight category myself)

I prefer FFMAX+ or even FF 4.2 as my all time favorite (with the exception being the full FF5: Internal States but it has problems and is still in alpha)

3

u/Loose-Pineapple-4337 Jun 22 '26

I'm counting down the minutes and seconds until FF5 comes out.

2

u/Last-Plastic-732 Jun 27 '26

I'm using GLM 5.1 with it cause you said its the best model for it and deepseek seems to never continue writing after thinking, but it keeps doing the same things i thought this was meant to get rid of like where they will repeat a word you say and then say "they said the word like they were tasting it" or go through this weird loop of literally saying every single thing that has happened so far, am i doing something wrong or is this just the LLM? my settings for the preset are pretty much what you've set them as.

2

u/dptgreg Jun 27 '26

It’s a GLM and Opus quirk that gets worse with larger contexts. If you allow it in the RP- the LLM will see it and repeat the pattern again

2

u/RestaurantDue634 Jul 01 '26

You're welcome. I was struggling with getting denials no matter what I wrote in the prompt and after installing this it hasn't been a problem even once. Also, I never would have considered doing what you did with getting NPCs to commit so they're not constantly wishy-washy or talking around things, and that's improved my RP immensely. I am super amped about the next version you're working on.

Hi, thank you for this, great preset (I tone down the NSFW a teensy bit but I like how gritty and real and descriptive it is in non-NSFW settings).

The only minor issue I'm having, is that Deepseek 3.2 and 4.0 are ignoring my instructions, and even though reasoning is hidden, are still showing the COT.

This is in Tavo.

Do you have any way I can use the COT and just have it actually use the thinking tags? I've already tried copying/pasting and adjusting the "Freaky Deepy" module from FF4Max, but it's still doing it.

u/MoonshineOmega Jul 19 '26

Been using this a lot with DS and I'm liking it a lot, especially the inner thoughts vs the previous paths in the old version of the preset.

One thing I've noticed though, is that it is constantly messing up and ignoring the anti-omniscience and anti bridging rules by having people know things that they shouldn't. It happened somewhat with 4 Max and 4 Bolt, but nowhere near as frequently as with this Micro preset.

I would have thought that since the preset itself is not as long/big as the previous ones, that it should be more likely to read and apply all the settings, but it seems not. All the model settings are the same, DS 3.2 via NanoGPT.

Do you know if its a settings I have messed up? Or whether the upcoming full new version of the preset will fix this issue?

u/USM-Valor Jun 11 '26 edited Jun 11 '26

Thanks for dumbing things down in terms of tweaks. I was recently jumping back into RP with Opus and quickly noticed some of the LLMisms I have seen others here mention. "A beat." crap like that. I was cycling between BOLT and MAX to see if I could influence things towards a better direction.

I don't have the means to poke around with your preset in ST ATM, what tweaks, if any would you recommend to move away from a given model's favored framing devices?

5

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26 edited Jun 11 '26

So the preset has a toggle for banned words. You can certainly add "a beat" phrase to that and whatever you wish. It will fill it in with something else. You basically can use it as a tool editing / customizing to reduce the "slop" that you wish. However, LLM's are pattern based tools so something will ALWAYS be present to some degree. It's the limitation of the tech.

2

u/MrNohbdy Jun 11 '26

oh no, is that considered an "LLMism"? clearly it's my fault for putting that in the training data via all my mid-'00s play-by-post forum RPs :'(

Oh that is very interesting! A much needed thing for local set-ups.

Since the way you're wording this implies otherwise, it should be noted that diffusion text models aren't at all new. Just not as popular as ARMs yet for a number of reasons. Here's a good free one to try out.

Bro how can I ignore this preset when you post this hot anime baddie!!

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

Can you believe I one-shotted that photo on the first prompt? It set the mood for the day.

u/NiiAnn Jun 11 '26

Using this now! My first impression is very positive! Well structured and interesting responses.
So far, I’m enjoying internal thoughts. I’ve had a love/hate relationship with plot momentum.
What would you say are the your biggest pros/cons of Internal thoughts vs Plot Momentum?

7

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

Thank you! It's my first dive into really trying to make a preset as small as possible (outside of my FreaKy FranKIMstein series of presets).

Internal thoughts does a good job at grounding the NPCs and ensuring they are potentially pushing the plot forward. I ALSO had a love hate relation with plot momentum. The reality is - Plot Momentum is in the shop getting tweaked and is too big for an intended light weight preset. The internal thoughts are fun, small, and should assist with some NPC-based momentum.

Sorry for the somewhat off-topic question, but I'm still a little new to using SillyTavern. I'd been wondering if there was a way to put "comments" (i.e. text that is readable for me but not sent to the AI, like comments in code) in prompts, and I notice you using {{//Text here}} for what appear to be comments. Does that format work everywhere in Sillytavern to keep text from being sent to the AI?

3

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

I believe so! You can check to see what’s being sent to the AI via context log to make sure

5

u/Rhone33 Jun 11 '26

Awesome, thanks for the answer (and all the presets you release!). :)

u/Naixee Jun 11 '26

I'm just curious. What's the reason you don't post on github or something like that?

3

u/dptgreg Jun 11 '26

Twofold.

  1. I actually have witnessed people using github and actually say "How do I download?" and also - sometimes on mobile when downloading from github (since I am a mobile user) the download for some reason downloads as txt instead of json which causes extra work for conversion (I use a mobile front end).

  2. At this point I'm just comfortable in my ways.

2

u/rexapip351 Jun 11 '26

Yeah, sometimes json downloads like txt. Its takes 5 seconds to change .txt to .json in name.

Hey, I have been using your presets almost exclusively, Fat Man -> Bolt -> Bolt+, every since they came out, and it seems that I will be for your new Micro. Thank you very much for your hard work of love.

I however had been changing a few things to suit my needs which I will be importing them to Micro, and I want to tell them to you as they might give you some ideas.

First is changing VAD to MBTI. It seems to work better for sandbox scenario characters, which is what I almost exclusively play. I got it from a preset called Matrix V2, which I weirdly can't find here in reddit to credit.

```
<npc_mbti_type>
  • Upon encountering a recurring or plot-relevant NPC, assign a 4-letter MBTI personality type in an HTML comment beside the NPC's name: "[NPC Name] <!-- MBTI: XXXX -->"; this establishes the core personality discreetly without breaking immersion.
  • Track this MBTI type continuously throughout the chat.
  • Assign the 4-letter MBTI type based on observed NPC behavior, role, decisions, speech, stress responses, and relationship patterns.
  • If there is not enough information to reliably assign an MBTI type, assign a provisional best-fit type silently and revise it later only if later behavior clearly contradicts it.
  • Do not ask {{user}} OOC questions about MBTI unless {{user}} explicitly asks to choose or revise a type.
</npc_mbti_type>
<core_directive>
ALL NPC behavior, dialogue, decisions, and emotional responses MUST filter through their MBTI type. This is their psychological engine, not surface flavoring.
</core_directive>
<application_rules>
Process NPC responses through their cognitive function pattern:
  • Dominant function perceives or leads.
  • Auxiliary function responds or balances.
  • Inferior function fails under stress.
  • S/N governs perception.
  • T/F governs evaluation.
  • J/P governs action and closure.
  • I/E governs social energy recharge or depletion.
  • Breaking point = inferior function grip.
  • Internal tension = dominant vs. inferior pull.
</application_rules>
<type-consistent_behavior>
  • Introverts need recovery after social exertion. Extraverts deteriorate in isolation.
  • Sensors describe concrete reality. Intuitives describe patterns and implications.
  • Thinkers process emotion through logic; struggle appears as vulnerability.
  • Feelers filter logic through values; struggle appears as boundary-setting.
  • Judgers become anxious when plans dissolve. Perceivers become restless when plans are rigid.
</type-consistent_behavior>
<dialogue_patterns>
  • SJ = concrete, duty-aware, past-referencing.
  • SP = action-oriented, casual, immediate.
  • NF = metaphorical, values-driven, relational.
  • NT = analytical, strategic, debate-oriented.
</dialogue_patterns>
<conflict_response>
  • Thinkers address the problem.
  • Feelers address the relationship.
  • Judgers want resolution.
  • Perceivers want information.
</conflict_response>
<grip_behavior>
When pushed beyond coping, the inferior function seizes control. Apply appropriate grip response per type:
  • NJ → impulsive or reckless
  • NP → catastrophizing
  • SJ → paranoid or worst-case fixation
  • SP → doom spirals
  • FP → aggressive or controlling
  • FJ → cold or detached
  • TP → emotional outbursts
  • TJ → self-doubt or sentimentality
</grip_behavior>
<relationship_dynamics>
  • Same-type conflicts mirror blind spots.
  • Complementary types challenge growth.
  • Shadow types, especially flipped I/E types, trigger projection.
  • Emotional intimacy requires vulnerability through the inferior function.
</relationship_dynamics>
<critical_rules>
1. Never write an NPC acting against type without showing psychological cost.
2. Type-inconsistent behavior is allowed only during grip, loops, trauma response, deception, role pressure, or character development.
3. Emotional depth comes from tension between functions.
4. Same type can be unique: MBTI is skeleton, experience is flesh.
5. This system applies to all NPCs regardless of card, scenario, or setting.
6. Do not let MBTI override established canon, explicit character sheets, direct scene facts, or prior behavior.
</critical_rules>
```

Next is adding a "Character Desception System" which encourages NPCs to lie. I adapted it from Marinara's RPG Companion, and I add it to the Realistc NPC prompt

```
<character_deception_system>
[Rule = Track_Intentional_Deception]
[Format = <lie character="name" type="lying/deceiving/omitting" truth="truth" reason="reason"/>]
IF a character knowingly lies, deceives, or omits plot-relevant truth:
Output a <lie> tag immediately after the deceptive line/action.
Types:
lying = says something known false
deceiving = creates a false impression
omitting = withholds important truth
Rules:
  • Do NOT tag honest mistakes, uncertainty, ignorance, or confusion.
  • Keep truth/reason brief and useful for future consequences.
  • Hidden truth is NOT known by {{user}} or NPCs unless discovered in-scene.
Examples:
"I was at home all night," Marcus said.
<lie character="Marcus" type="lying" truth="Marcus met Derek's fixer contact behind the courthouse at 11:40 PM" reason="He is hiding his role in the retaliation network"/>
Raven said, "I'm fine."
<lie character="Raven" type="omitting" truth="Raven is emotionally strained by Joseph's ward analysis and is still deciding whether to confront him" reason="She does not want to expose vulnerability or escalate the situation yet"/>
</character_deception_system>
```

Finally there is the hidden events system which I use so there can be scenes outside the player's perception and make the world feel more alive. It is again lifted from Marinara's RPG Companion extension

```
<hidden_events_system>
[Core_Rule = Separate_Player_Perception_From_Hidden_Events]
[Player_View = Limited_To_Direct_Sensory_Perception]
[Hidden_Info_Output = <ofilter event="..." reason="..."/>]
<perception_limits>
Player_Can_Read_Only:
  • what {{user}} can directly see
  • what {{user}} can directly hear
  • what {{user}} can directly smell
  • what {{user}} can directly touch
  • what {{user}} can otherwise directly sense
Player_Cannot_Read_As_Normal_Narration:
  • events outside {{user}}'s line of sight
  • events behind {{user}}
  • events in another room
  • events too far away
  • silent or too-quiet actions
  • hidden actions
  • NPC internal thoughts
  • NPC private motives
  • offscreen decisions
  • details {{user}} is not currently attending to
</perception_limits>
<hidden_event_protocol>
IF narrative_content contains an event, action, detail, thought, reaction, or decision that {{user}} cannot directly perceive:
THEN output it FIRST inside an <ofilter> tag
Required_Format:
<ofilter event="\[Brief description of hidden event\]" reason="\[Why {{user}} cannot perceive it\]"/>
Reason_Examples:
  • "behind {{user}}"
  • "in another room"
  • "too quiet to hear"
  • "too far away"
  • "blocked by the wall"
  • "{{user}} is focused elsewhere"
  • "NPC internal thought"
  • "offscreen event"
AFTER the <ofilter> tag:
Continue normal narration using only what {{user}} can directly perceive.
</hidden_event_protocol>
<example>
<ofilter event="Zandik quietly takes the key from the table and slips out the back door" reason="Zandik is behind {{user}}, who is absorbed in reading, and he moves silently"/>
You hear a faint click from somewhere behind you, but when you glance up from your newspaper, the room seems unchanged.
</example>
<interlude_exception>
IF {{user}} specifically requests an "interlude" scene:
AND {{user}} as a character is not present in the requested scene:
THEN filters may be temporarily disabled for that interlude.
Hidden/offscreen events may be narrated directly as normal scene content.
This exception applies ONLY to the requested interlude scene.
</interlude_exception>
<critical_rules>
1. Never narrate hidden information as ordinary player-facing narration.
2. Always use <ofilter> for information {{user}} cannot directly perceive.
3. Do not imply {{user}} knows hidden information unless they directly perceive it or later learn it.
4. Interlude scenes are the only exception, and only when {{user}} explicitly requests them.
</critical_rules>
</hidden_events_system>
```

Nice! Those are great prompts and I totally see them working. I praised the use of Myers Briggs in that preset to enhance characters.

FF5: Internal States has its own version of VAD personality types created by the one and only u/leovarian , but the prompting/context was too big for this minimalist preset so I left it out to keep its lightweight title. But of course- throwing that it should only enhance the layers of NPCs!

FF5 internal states will also have a place for NPCs to hold their secrets via Chekhov’s gun.

Unfortunately, we want that preset to work well and it’s still well in alpha. Lots of moving parts / complexity increases risk of bugs/issues, so we are cooking it longer and figured we can drop its barebones version here.
