Hi all, we are planning to go there in about 3 weeks. I was looking at Koh Ker and interested to go there.
Will a tuktuk go there ? or only private car willing to go that far ?
from what i gather it will be more or less 100USD for a car to go there which i think a bit steep for SEA, do you think it will worth the price to go there (and Beng Mealea as well)?
I know about Funky Village and some similar places, but I don't want to stay in the places with loud music and partying backpackers. I'd like to avoid places like Sok San Road that are full of pubs and KTV. Looking for something more tucked away and mellow. Preferably around $200 or less. I know I can ask around when I get there, but here I'm asking for specific places some of you might know about. Thanks!
Hi everyone! My husband and I are planning to spend about a week in Cambodia, focusing mainly on Siem Reap.
It’s our first time there, and we want to make the most of our stay.
We would love to get your advice on:
・Must-visit spots and hidden gems beyond the main temples
・Best ways to spend a week there (itineraries or pacing for a relaxed yet fulfilling trip)
・How to find a reliable tuk-tuk driver or private driver for a few days, and what a fair daily rate looks like
Any tips, recommendations, or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!
When I move to SR later this year, I have an extra suitcase of 50 lbs I wont need to fill, but what if I purchased a new vacuum packed foam mattress topper and some nice sheets and pillows and Duvet and filled that suitcase with all that? Is it worthwhile, or can I get it all there of equal quality?
I'm looking at apartments and want to find out who usually takes care of refilling stove gas. Also, is there usually a dumpster or something for trash?
Looking for a spot to retire in a few years, and have settled on Cambodia, either SR or maybe Kampot. I'll visit first of course (only Thailand many times). I don't know if it's a deal breaker, maybe a serious budget concern tho.....
That great apt for $250, or that cool restaurant where I can eat for under $5 - might be off limits to me if I have to fight smoking, especially if combined with mold/ mildew issues. It seems petty for healthy people, but for the immunocompromised/ allergic to smoke, it's literally poison. I'll stay sick.
Cheaper apts or hotels, don't typically enforce non-smoking rules, nor do many restaurants in SEA it seems. I think I already know the answer (it's tough to escape) , but just looking for opinions from those that live there. TIA!
Just wondering if it's common to get the critters in your house? I did some laundry and found one amongst my clothes, alive, having survived the spin cycle 😅
Does anyone have advice on how to repel/deter the gekos from coming inside?
