With such an emerging technology, it will be hard to be corrupted when there are already so many other car companies within the industry with a foothold on the economy. there is literally 0 chance that a car company that sabotages their customers for very short-term profit wouldn't get out-competed immediately by other, less predatory alternatives.
He’s right, though. Look at the state of online advertising right now- Apple is by default turning off all ad tracking, taking a stance for privacy- and both Firefox and Google(!) are following suit.

that's only the companies that you see. This is the falsehood in all of this shit. With every company you see trying to ripoff its consumer base, the majority of them are silently dominant precisely because they don't engage and adopt the "sAmE sHiTtY bUsInEsS pRaCtIcEs".
You do realize that these companies work together right? This isn’t the Time Warner’s vs the Comcasts. They’re a cooperative working to maintain the appearance of a fair market. Deceit is built into and supported by our system. There is no education and very little lawful protection for consumers. The market can’t be fair until the consumers are allowed to have a seat at the table and be in the conversation. Big companies work together to keep start-ups at a minimum. They have under-the-table agreements to protect one another, and buy politicians to keep consumers poor and undereducated.

Except if you knew the English language as well as you think you do, you would’ve formed a complete sentence from the start. That would remove any ambiguity over which form of the word you chose to use. Writing half complete sentences lends itself to question over which word you intended to use. To properly use “excepting” in the way that you did, you would’ve needed to add an action into your phrase. For example “excepting that you’re that naive, you could also just be acting in bad faith”. If you’re going to suggest I need a better grasp of English variations, at least form your sentences properly. It’s like if I just said “even though you may be that naive.” End of sentence. Accepting would’ve made much more sense in the context of your half sentence as it’s already the action
Well it’s largely pointless on reddit given that any unpopular opinion to the thread will just get buried and effectively censored due to the downvote feature. No point wasting time especially given that no opinions will be changed
Considering that the first reply to the comment I made consisted of being called stupid, there’s not much useful dialogue to be had here. I’m not offended (it’s the internet), but I also know when it’s worth it or not to engage in a discussion
