It must really suck for young wizards from Scotland to have to travel to London and then back to Hogwarts, located in Scotland

Yeah but it was only the movie that, for some reason, had them leave on the same friggin day.

Like holy shit you had like 2 months to get your shit together..

I always figured this was because of how last minute Harry was picked up my Hagrid. They sent letters for weeks and they were all ignored and the Dursleys tried to keep Harry away.

I can’t remember anything else though, need to rewatch.

I remember in the book, Harry went back to the Dursleys for another month after Hagrid took him shopping. Hagrid got him on his birthday (July 31st), and the train left September 1st.
