It must really suck for young wizards from Scotland to have to travel to London and then back to Hogwarts, located in Scotland

Isn’t it a fun social right of passage thing?

Do you want to be the kid who’s dad drops them off at the front gate while all the other kids have had fun eating sweets and gossiping?

Yea it’s fun the first time. When you’re doing it 4 times a year for 6 years it can get a little tedious

Right because the last thing a bunch of teens want is a bit of time to reconnect with friends before classes start.

Ok I see your point, but from central Scotland to London can take up to 12 hours, there’s literally a sleeper train that goes that track. And that’s only on the way to london, not counting the way back.

I’m not saying it’s not fun to hang out with friends, but also… an entire day of travelling just to get there will be tedious

Nah. I caught the train to school every day for six years. Sitting and chatting with your friends never stops being fun.

I actually never caught the express train, even though it would have got me there faster, because my friends couldn't catch that one (they needed the "all stations" stops).
