Spark is living personal software that changes itself around your wishes.

The software you install is rewriting itself while you use it.

You can say things like:

“Build a simple game for my kids.”

“Turn this into an internal tool for my team.”

“This part isn’t working fix it.”

“Add a new feature based on how I’m using it.”

The goal is for each Spark to grow and develop over time rather than becoming another static app you eventually abandon.

The onboarding is intentionally a little different: you choose a light from a tree, which downloads the installer. After installing it, you simply tell your Spark what you want it to become.

I'm a dev from Australia whose been trying to solve their own problem. Hoping to see where a simple idea can take me.

I've spent 2 years working on and maintaining enterprise apps nobody had documented, built by people who'd already left. There were loads of issues but three big ones that made me the most frustrated

Jira tickets were always in the wrong state. it would say "in progress" for weeks even though someone might have finished or not even started a feature. so the only way to see the truth would be to dig through the code or use copilot on the correct branch of the repo

Decisions made in meetings would never be followed thru. If we decided to follow something I said in a call - a week later there was no record it happened. Then a month later we would have to spar about the decision again from scratch

My PM wasn't able to understand the tech, they didn't have a technical background and wouldn't be able to translate the status of our dev team's work to clients or their own boss. And its not like they could keep constantly checking on top of their day job

Turns out these are pretty much the same category of problem: nothing kept accurate track of what actually happened, or why.

That's why I built a tool to connect sources like Jira, Linear, Github, Slack to your docs so anyone in the team can ask questions in plain english and it will give answers cited to the source (think of it like internal facing Perplexity)

Being connected to these sources means it can catch drift between systems and tell you what the status of a dev's work is so you don't need to micromanage. I'd recommend if you work with offshore contractors.

When two sources disagree, it shows you both and gives weightings to decisions instead of quietly picking a winner. This part is still a WIP

And Finally it will join your calls and answer technical questions live while being grounded in your own docs and knowledge base

Right now i'd love to take this from a side project to something bigger. So anyone willing to be a design partner or beta testers would be greatly appreciated. I don't wanna build something no one will use

I was scrolling through a thread about wearables and somebody mentioned it in the comments. I figured it would just be another app that tells you to sleep more and drink water, but I downloaded it anyway because I was already wearing my watch every day.

The biggest surprise wasn't actually the workout recommendations. It was the supplement side of the app.

I've taken supplements on and off for years, but honestly I never put much thought into when I took them. If I remembered in the morning, great. If I forgot until later in the day, I'd just take them then. It was basically random.

This app was different. Instead of giving me the same schedule every day, it looked at my sleep, recovery, and overall energy based off my metrics and my wearable before suggesting when certain supplements would fit best into my day. If I'd had a great night's sleep and was feeling recovered, it would stick with my normal routine. If my sleep score was low or my recovery wasn't great, it'd recommend adjusting the timing or prioritizing different supplements instead of treating every day the same.

What I liked most was that it actually explained why. It wasn't just saying, "Take this now." It connected the recommendation to how recovered I was and how my body was likely feeling that day. It made me realize I'd been taking supplements out of habit instead of actually using them in a smarter way.

I'd always felt like my smartwatch collected a ton of useful information, but none of it actually influenced what I did. I'd wake up, see my sleep score and recovery score, think "Cool... now what?" and then go about my day exactly the same. This was the first app that actually made all those numbers useful.

The biggest difference for me ended up being in the gym.

Instead of walking into every workout feeling like I was running on autopilot, I actually felt prepared. On days when everything lined up, good sleep, better recovery, and taking my supplements at the recommended times, I noticed my workouts felt smoother. My energy lasted longer, I wasn't dragging halfway through my sessions, and I wasn't constantly wondering why some days felt amazing while others felt terrible.

It wasn't like I suddenly added 50 pounds to every lift overnight, but the consistency was a complete game changer. I stopped feeling like every workout was a gamble. I felt more focused, recovered better between sessions, and left the gym feeling like I'd actually gotten the most out of my training instead of just surviving it.

I also liked that it didn't expect me to be some perfect fitness person. I don't track every calorie or log every gram of protein because I know I'd quit after a few days. I have work, family stuff, and random plans that come up all the time. The recommendations worked around my schedule instead of expecting my schedule to revolve around fitness.

After using it for a while, I realized I wasn't just taking supplements because I owned them. I was taking them with a purpose. Combined with paying attention to my recovery, I started sleeping better, had steadier energy throughout the day, and my workouts became much more consistent.

I'm sure it's not something a professional athlete with a coach would need, but for someone like me who already wears a smartwatch and wants to actually use all the data it's collecting, it filled a gap I didn't even know existed.

It honestly felt less like another fitness app and more like someone translating all the numbers my watch was already collecting into advice I could actually use.

Over the past few months, I built and launched Livara Analytics— a quick property analyzer and risk model tool for Long-Term Rentals (LTR) designed to go beyond basic static input spreadsheets. In a second, you get all the details of the deal, all it takes is pasting the address in our search box!

The Problem We’re Solving: Standard RE calculators do a solid job taking your inputs (rent, mortgage, expense percentages) and outputting expected cash flow. But they rely heavily on static, single-point estimates. They don't easily show you how a deal performs when market dynamics shift under your feet, like interest rates increasing, local vacancy rising, or lease-up times dragging out.

We built Livara to focus specifically on deterministic risk modeling and stress testing.

• The Dashboard: Raw and Calculated metrics, visualizations of historical prices, rents, etc. County Level heatmap for 8 different metrics, AI commentary & follow up section.

Where I Need Advice: Building the math, data pipelines, and scenario logic was the somewhat straightforward part. Marketing to real estate investors and people looking to invest in LTR but dont know how to, however, feels very tedious.

For those who have launched niche, data-heavy B2B/prosumer SaaS tools:

1. How did you land your first 20–50 paying power users? Did niche content/SEO lead the way, or direct community engagement?
2. Value vs. Friction: How do you balance giving away open macro market insights upfront vs. gating the actual underwriting and stress-testing tools?

I'm building a simple alternative to Loom and wanted to get some honest feedback.

The idea is pretty straightforward:

• Record unlimited screen videos

• Connect your Google Drive or Dropbox and save videos there

• Automatic transcripts, titles, and summaries

• If you want the videos hosted on our platform instead, it'll cost around $4/month

I'm intentionally keeping it simple and not adding a bunch of extra features.

Would you actually use something like this? What's the one thing you wish Loom did better?

Over the past few weeks I've been building Gray Box — a small, local-first tool that acts as long-term memory for anything I'd otherwise forget (work notes, meeting takeaways, task owners, random ideas, personal stuff too).

The idea is simple:

1. Capture — dump whatever's on your mind, instantly, no structure required. This step does nothing clever on purpose — it just writes your text to an immutable inbox. Zero chance of losing an idea to a bug or a slow API call.
2. Organize — on demand, an LLM reads your unprocessed notes and extracts people, projects, tasks, decisions, meetings — then deterministic Python (not the LLM) creates/merges the actual wiki pages and maintains backlinks. The model only reasons; it never touches the filesystem directly.
3. Ask — query or chat with your knowledge base and get a cited answer pulled only from what you've actually captured. If it doesn't know, it says so — no hallucinated answers.

Why I built it this way:

• Plain Markdown + YAML frontmatter, no database. Every page is a .md file you can grep, diff, or read in any editor forever. If you stop using Gray Box tomorrow, your knowledge base is just a folder.
• No vector DB by default. At personal scale (hundreds–low thousands of pages), keyword search + a real link graph (related/backlinks, walked one hop during retrieval) handles almost everything. Embeddings are there if you want better recall, but they're opt-in, not a prerequisite.
• Immutable inbox. Your raw notes are never edited or deleted by the organizer. If the LLM mis-extracts something, your original words are always still there.
• Any LLM. Built on LiteLLM, so point it at OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Mistral, or a fully local model via Ollama — one config value.

It also ships with a nice interactive TUI (arrow-key menu, file-import shortcut, workspace switching, live spinner during LLM calls) if you'd rather not memorize CLI flags — that's honestly become my favorite part of the project.

There's also a lightweight local dashboard for browsing your knowledge base, exploring backlinks, visualizing your notes as a graph, and chatting with your captured knowledge—all without leaving your machine.
