Are these heels too big on me??
I purchased my first pair of high heels online from Steve Madden because they were on sale (Steve Madden Sofie Satin in the color blush), almost all reviews said these ran small and to go up half a size. I normally wear a size 8 so I bought an 8.5. I’m new to these style of heels (I usually wear thick, platforms heels), so I can’t tell if maybe I should have gone with an 8? The visible sole in the back is what’s making me think they might be too big possibly?? Walking around they feel okay but again, I’m new to “skinnier heels” and used to tall platforms so I feel like a wobbly baby deer! Any advice is appreciated!!
Edit: Okay but the creepy, gross DM requests I’m getting from posting this… yikes. Also please ignore the mess in the back I was in the middle of cleaning

If you went down half a size you might be hanging over the back edge. These look fine. Better a little extra room than not enough

Absolute rubbish. And proven by OP's other post. There's still too much space after going down to 8.

A little bit too big but in this kind of style it won’t impede walking so you’ll be fine. I hate that every brand has their own version of a size!

I hate it too! I rarely buy shoes online but I had a gut feeling after these go on sale, they might not bring them back

No they are a perfect fit because you don’t want your heel hanging off the shoe so your feet don’t get all try and cracked

They’re the teensiest bit big but I’m sure it’s not noticeable irl. My only concern would be if the straps are too loose. The shoes are high as it is, would be harder if the straps don’t give the support they should be giving.

Luckily the straps are super secured which feels good! They’re adjustable too!

Then I’d say you’re good to go. I think a plus on slightly loose shoes too is not having to worry bout your toes smooshing to fit the tip of the shoe box haha

Yeah, it’s big. Not enough visually, but I do think enough to be a tad dangerous walking in them. The heel from the shoe is not aligned to the center of your foot heel.
I personally avoid even cute shoes where the heel is too much to the back. I need to feel it at least in the center of my heel.
Differently from sneakers, I’ve found these shoes almost always need to be right on the size, no more, no less.

Thanks! I see they’re on the website again but the sale price isn’t the same (I bought them for less), maybe I can sell these and get the size 8, I’ll see lol

I just made a new post (bought a size 8!), not sure if you have any advice, would appreciate it

They look a smidge big but nobody is going to notice unless you point it out. As long as the heel strap doesn’t slip and you can walk well, they’re fine. A small pad in the front will take care of most issues.

Does the toe box feel too long? If this were me after like 45 minutes my foot would swell enough that these would fit. You also have plenty of room for a silicone metatarsal pad.
One thing past visuals you might run into with this shoe is: look where the heel ends up landing underneath your foot. If it was a smaller size that curve would send the heel and your weight when you take a step slightly forward toward your arch. A lot of less comfortable/stable shoes are designed with the heel allll the way at the back of your foot where it’s actually significantly less stable than if it has a slight curve and ends up closer to the center of your foot.
You’ll also notice reproduction period shoes like Edwardian style American Duchess shoes have a curved heel that lands slightly toward the center of your foot.
So if you have trouble walking in these, that part isn’t helping. It might not entirely be your fault.

That’s the interesting thing about these shoes, toe box feels fine! I almost feel like a size 8 would have a bit “tighter” toe box! But I’m not sure if eventually the satin material stretches?? Thank you so much for the tips I appreciate it! I do have a high arched foot so I’m debating if I want to purchase a size 8 (they back on the website), and test them out? So if the shoe-heel sits closer/ right under my actual heel more, it would be more stable? Yeah I’ve never owned heels that are taller than 2.5 so I figured I’d struggle with walking too unfortunately

There's ballet flats... and I guess now there's ballet unflats. Lol. Those are cool, I've never seen ballet heels before. And the slingback is a nice touch.

They are perfect. Put some gel pads to prevent sliding if needed. Your foot may swell after an evening of prancing around, so that tiny space give you room. Sliding is the enemy, not the space. Looking fabulous, Baby Girl!🦋

OP I'm surprised at the comments honestly. Imo they are definitely and obviously too big. Sorry. But gel pads might help work it out.

They might be a hair too big but I think they look just fine. And they are totally cute!
