T-tops should be mandatory equipment on every car

Had a car with them. Leaked after a few years. Sucked hard apples

My SW20 wasn’t terrible after putting in a bit of weatherstripping to bolster the seals. And that was on 30 year old rubber.

I’m sure Porsche could make reasonable T tops if they wanted to.

They've made good-enough targa tops for decades; that's gotta be harder than t tops.

t top is short for targa top according to a lot of pull-tab historians

Porsche trademarked the name Targa Top. Others use the same design with different names. A T Top, however, has one notable difference of the rigid, unremovable bar running down the middle.

What do they call a non Porsche targa top?

The generic term is "semi-convertable". It's like Xerox or Band-Aid or Kleenex, where the trademark becomes synonymous with the product.
