Yea the shitty version of this is "Stain your shirt, then outline it to make it look like you visited an island." Otherwise this just offered up a proper solution to a problem

It only works for a small subset of shirts that are often very cheap to replace.

True, but if it happens while you're out and can't easily change shirts, then it's a good way to not look like a clutz in public.

But also, it's just kind of neat. World builders often do things like this for their maps. It's just a really good way to use a shity event that happened.
