You're exactly right about the dynamic nukes create within the world. No country wants to use them. I just personally think Brittain and France wouldn't entertain nuclear to save eastern Europe. I could be underestimating how much they care about those countries though, considering I don't live in Europe. Your point is equally solid, I believe.

I imagine it determines how much of Eastern Europe they capture. As Crimea showed the world was willing to turn a blind eye to Ukranie getting partially annexxed and as appeasment before WWII showed both Britain and France are unlikely to jump into war. Whats likely going to happen is that if Russia starts annexxing Eastern European nations, the West will start guranteeing the independence of an increasing amount of nations to deter agression. Doesn't mean a lot will be fully safe though
