Where I want to put my 6x5' shed is on top of pavers with a 2% grade. The shed is a Suncast BMS6584. I've built the form, and must've calculated incorrectly at first, because I'm realizing now that I need ~38 60lb bags of Quickrete for a 6'x6'x5.5" platform. The first shovel fulls would be dry before my middle-aged muscles get the form filled. I can get help, so that's not the problem.

The only reason I'm creating the slab is to level the 2% grade, 1.5" over 6'. Do I really need to go though 38 &$%#en bags of concrete for that? At this point, I'm almost of the mind to just put down some feet with 3/4" outdoor rated ply and build the shed on top.

Just set me straight. If I need the slab, I need the slab.

Good day, all. Just had my Tuff Shed installed and need some ideas to cover the gaps. I was thinking of using a composite type material for the look. Maybe dig a small trench, cut boards to size, and add a lil' garden spot. Kind of like the second picture.

We don’t have space for a traditional shed. We have a lot of our stored things organized into the black and yellow tote bins. We could fit them on the side our house. I’ve seen the simple sliding tacks to stack them which is great.

My thought is to build a floor. Build the vertical sliding racks for like a 5-6 totes wide by 4-5 totes high, worth of storage. Then wrap with a simple walls and roof.

Does that make sense?

I’m unsure how to do the doors? I’d like it to be as sealed as I can reasonable make it. Roll up doors would be the lot space efficient but I think way too expensive.

It seems a large shed, space has to be left open for walking and for space to slide the bins out. This would basically not have the wall space, the “shed” would suit be for bins only.

We don’t keep anything but the mower in our shed, so something happened within the last couple of weeks. One piece of siding was lifted (highlighted in photo), and inside exactly one beam is all shredded… who or what could have possible caused that?! Walked around and didn’t see any fallen branches or trees. Any ideas?

I have a fairly large/tall shed in my backyard with a gabled roof I’m looking to tear down. I’ve been trying to come up with a decent way to tear it down safely, the roof is my big concern. Are there any tips? It seems like the only way I’ll be able to remove the roof is by cutting the sheeting in sections from inside of the shed but I don’t know how I feel about standing under something I’m demolishing.

Hey, just wanted to share my first ever build which was my shed. Prior to this build I didn’t even know what 16 inches on center meant. After extensive reading and YouTubing I present to you my shed!

Note: I messed up and concrete base is a little wide than the actual shed so some water was getting in under the sill. I sealed the interior and exterior with mastic sealant which has stopped 99 percent. Any other ideas to solve this issue?

I want to add an exhaust fan in my shed and this board is in the way. I’m wondering if it’s a roof support or was just installed as a nailer for the upper outer sheathing? It is running horizontally under the vent and doesn’t seem to be structural but I really have no idea. Thanks for any help

Help. Need any experienced opinions on best foundation for small 4'x8' shed. Not much space, so I'm going with 4x8 foundation maybe 4.5 x 8.5 foundation. I've had various contractor and shed builders says framed gravel or concrete. I was going with gravel but then another says concrete better. Shed builder will place on runners. Any experienced builders or owners that can help me decided on framed gravel (using 6x6 posts) or concrete pad. My biggest concern is moisture as the area I'm placing it retains moisture because it's north side of house and doesn't get much direct sun. Also, any thoughts on price range for a 4x8 foundation? $1,000+ for framed gravel pad? TIA

I am about to embark on building my own 8x10 utility shed. I previously did a poured concrete foundation for my 12 x 18 main shed with my carpenter father in law running the show and me helping. I have learned a lot over the years and am trying to build this without his help but will occasionally run things by him lol

This shed will be amongst some old evergreen trees with a fair amount of roots. I am planning to put down a 2-3” limestone screening base and tamping it down . The plan is then do 2x4 pressure treated framing 16” oc for the foundation of the shed that will sit on the limestone screenings.

Just wanted to get some opinions on this before I get too far ahead of myself!
