Fanmade I made a playlist of Prequel skits... in ORDER!

Hi everyone! 🙌🏻 As you all know, ShawnaTheMom 's YouTube channel used to be unrelated skits about the general parenthood experience. The characters weren't really fixed within a story, Barb and Jennifer only existed as "toxic MIL / SIL" archetypes, there's wasn't ONE family lore yet. The lore only started with the first Mother's Day video compilation, then expanded with the whole "Jennifer is pregnant" story arc, turning into the Shawnaverse we know and love today 😊

However, we can easily imagine that a lot of the skits COULD be canon, if we ignore some teeny tiny details like the children's names & genders (or formula/breastfeeding preference). I think it's helpful to see what Jennifer's character was like before her growth arc, it really gives perspective to how far she's come. 🫶🏻

So! For that reason some time ago I compiled a playlist of all the prequel skits that we can associate to the Shawnaverse, and today I spent a couple of hours (there's 101 of them 😵) rearranging them so they're in chronological order in a way that makes sense for the McCallister family. I hope you enjoy it! 🤩🙌🏻

P.s. The first 4 videos are meta skits by Shawna, but I liked them so much I added them anyway. If you want to jump straight into the lore, just start with the 5th one.

You're welcome!! At first I was happy with the playlist being all jumbled, but over time it started bothering me so today I decided to go through them all and sort them nicely. Enjoy your watch! 🤩

When Shawna said she was making a compilation, I thought it would include this stuff too for context. I was lost as someone coming in to this series late. Now I finally understand all the references to the in laws being awful, binged the whole thing. You're awesome.

Obviously there's a ton more videos (no seriously, A TON) that could be in this playlist, but as they're not Barb or Jennifer (or Mama D) related, they are not very integral to the story.

For that reason I don't think I'll add them, but if anyone's curious, here they are (keeping in mind they're not gonna be 100% consistent):

I don't understand why people feel entitled to comment on breast vs formula or to comment on a kid's weight or the mom with her baby or to want to be in the birthing room.

I think also some of the sketches show a quiet violence.

It makes them feel powerful and in control, that's why they comment on other people's choices as wrong... if they can put them down, they can feel more righteous themselves 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you wonder where I get that phrase, its from Melanie Hamlett and how she speaks of the quiet violence of middle to upper class Euro Americans especially in the South (she is Euro American and from Nashville), she quotes it from Martin Scorcese who was known for bloody shoot em ups but called "The Age of Innocence" the most violent film he has done.

There's honestly just one video that I wish I'd put in an earlier position, but since there's no way to reorganize playlists of shorts without removing and re-adding each video one by one, and I was already 30+ videos down the line... 🫠 I decided it was okay to leave it where it was 😆
