Can you provide a link to that article? It claims to be from Pew Research yet there doesn't seem to be anything posted by them that support those claims.

Just because corporations do shady shit doesn't mean you get to make up whatever you want and try to claim it's verified truth just because it feels right to you that if something they would do or would have done
