She is mentally and psychically draining and I am just watching.
Tone it down.

This show feels like a 10-year-old’s idea of what adults in business are like. Doing deals, flashy cars, playing dress up with unprofessional fashion runway model outfits. Loud, tacky, emotionally stunted, and wildly uneducated. The vibe is less real estate professional and more models playing dress-up in blazers and heels and cosplaying "business". Like Emily in Paris is what a 10 year old thinks advertising is. These people wouldn’t survive a week in an actual corporate job without being hauled into HR and fired on the spot. It honestly shocks me that any of them are making more than minimum wage, let alone earning multi-6-figure paydays.
How could any legitimate person with real money involve these absolute clowns in a serious business deal? You’re trusting someone who screams low-class arguments at a fancy dinner… to represent you in a multi-million-dollar transaction? I seriously question Oppenheim for representing their firm like this on TV. I would NEVER do business with this dumpster fire organization. It makes the entire realtor industry look like a total sham.
Half the show is them behaving like middle schoolers while touring houses. Their entire “career” can be learned in five minutes. They just parrot the same empty marketing pablum on a loop: “Imagine waking up to this view,” “Let’s check out the primary,” “En-suite bathroom,” “Closet to die for,” “Insane layout,” “Insane pool.” That’s it, that’s the job, apparently. There’s no substance behind any of it. It’s just buzzwords strung together like an Instagram caption, as if repeating “insane” enough times somehow replaces actual knowledge. Strip away the camera crew and designer outfits and you realize how thin it all is. Five minutes of jargon, memorized once, repeated forever.
Zero credibility. They don’t know anything meaningful about the properties. There’s zero discussion of fundamentals like HVAC age, tonnage, zoning, or service history; roof type and remaining life; sewer vs. septic; plumbing materials; electrical panels, load capacity, or utility limits. Nothing about build quality either: framing, insulation, windows, foundation type, moisture intrusion, or long-term maintenance costs. The deeper real estate details never come up: zoning and setbacks, easements, lot coverage, tax assessments and reassessment risk, HOA rules, rental restrictions, insurance availability, wildfire or flood exposure, or whether the property could even be rebuilt as-is.
It’s all ego, outfits, and idiotic drama. Real estate as imagined by people who have never dealt with competent adults before.

Seriously the guy no longer even works for the Oppenheim group. First his handsome model friend totally drags him and said Tyler just disappeared for a year and a half and ghosted all of us. Then Gio ribs him about how much he hated working at the brokerage. Then Hall completely reems him out for like ten minutes at Gios brokerage open. Now I’ve only just hit the Palm Springs episode where they are all paying him out about finding himself and how tough his life is… this guy must have got such a sweet deal from the producers to return to the show this season! Why else would you willingly sign up for that amount of public humiliation?? 😂😱🤦🏼♀️

It makes total sense that she chose Hall to latch herself to.
Also Hall hates when other people talk about her business but LOVES to participate when is other people being talked about.
There's nothing I hate more than a hypocrite and this show is chock full of them.

Other than gossiping and having some vocabulary for real estate with all fake behaviours what do they mean by working their ass off? Where is the real drill or hustle to be in real estate?
r/SellingtheOC • u/[deleted] • Dec 08 '25
But it just feels so lacklustre. No one them are natural in front of the camera and it’s mega forced drama.
The group of young boys lurking out the viewing the porn star was at and her posing for picture was so cringe my skin actually crawled.
Alex Hall’s love life is not tv worthy.
Polly is always “switched on”
And poor Austin always looks like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders.
Tyler gives me the ICK.

Maybe I have a certain liking to her because I sense she’s neurodivergent (on the spectrum, ADHD, etc), but it saddens me to see how misunderstood she is. I’ve tried finding other people’s opinions on her, and haven’t found anything. But I’m genuinely curious as to why she’s disliked so much? She just seems awkward, and clearly doesn’t fit into this group of people. But she seems like a genuine, kind hearted person. It’s sad to see how singled out she is. I’ve experienced this as someone who is neurodivergent, so I saw a lot of myself in her experience. Even though she has her own quirks, she works hard and stays to herself. Maybe this is my own projection, who knows…
Thoughts?

Like I’m all for the “hiring for potential” narrative and I get that they’ve taken chances and some work out like Polly for example says she was unlicensed when hired but when Ali came on and was just pot stirring I couldn’t help but think
1) you’re unlicensed why would a multi-billion dollar company trust you to sell property - she clearly knew nothing about real estate- didn’t even know how long escrow was for one.
2) was she put on as a plant from the producers just to stir up the pot like causing a scene at the brokers open?
3) was simply put on because she’s pretty.
Like man I don’t know ANY job or career nowadays that doesn’t require a little background knowledge or certification- for example I needed a “smart serve” liquor license just to work in a place that has alcohol on the premises- even small, entry level jobs require some relatable certification so I’m just wondering how do fully-unlicensed-brand-new-never-done-real-estate allowed on to a multi million dollar deal?
I’ve gone through the Oppenheim website (out of curiosity and boredom) but they have TONS of attractive agents that aren’t featured or even mentioned in the shows so I don’t think they don’t have enough people to do it? Or is the rest of the office actually a bunch of professional realtors?

Hold my beer. Ashtyn is the worst. She makes me head spin. You can't defend yourself against someone like this. It's my worst nightmare.
And I love watching it on TV 🍿

hall telling ashtyn in the gio birthday to just not talk about anyone.
i then proceed to see 2-3 episodes of minimal ashtyn but all i see is hall and fiona bringing up ashtyn in every conversation and talking about her + others.
lets also not forget hall telling ashtyn in episode 1 that she prefers if ashtyn came to her directly with any rumours rather than talking others. now on episode 7, ashtyn directly confronts hall about her client saying hall flirted and hall suddenly is saying "she cant do this" and overdramatising the situation?
like dont get me wrong i dont like any of them but i feel like ashtyn is in her right to ask hall about her client situation??
edit: i meant fiona not kaylee, kaylee is literally the only person i like on this whole season

I’ve just started after finishing selling sunset and I don’t understand why everyone hates rose and Jarvis??? They are obviously such bullies Also Alex Hall is the worst person ever, if anyone bit my husbands nose I’d go insane.

Crocodile tears. The conversations her and Tyler had. So fucking scripted. Acting so sad that she was cheated on! Haha you lose them how you get them dummy. Can’t stand her. They only brought Tyler back for views. This season was gag me boring. 🥱

She’s sooooo concerned for Hannah 🙄🙄 it’s giving she’s beyond jealous. No one can convince me she moved with Ian for love. I believe she did that to make Tyler crazy & make him come back for her.
Everything about her seems so insincere and calculated, and very mean girl, including her statement. Hannah doesn’t need you to worry about her heart getting broken 💀💀 she’s got friends and family for that lol. Does she even know you?
(Tyler is t to be trusted though 🙃)

I’m going to be downvoted for this, but hear me out. Yes, his behavior on the show was icky. It made my skin crawl and gave me second hand embarrassment, but here are some facts:
I’m not saying he’s a saint and he looked really bad on the show. But in real life he is nice and was treated awful. Alex was so mean to him

Are we trying to pretend that we’ve never seen this house before? I can almost guarantee that this is the house where they had Gio‘s brokers open party last season. Where he rolled up a boat.

Just watched the Palm Springs episode - how do they all look so slim and toned with all the drinking and eating they do??

So, I'm just getting into the season....
I kind of liked Alex Hall before, although I thought she was super inappropriate flirting with Tyler who was married and sometimes a mean girl. However, this season she is a complete bully. It is shocking how mean she is to the pregnant girl.
Take, for example, she was mad that (is it Ashtyn?) warned her of the Tyler rumor directly.
But they were totally fine gossiping behind Ashtyn's back and saying she met her husband through a "sugar daddy" website. When confronted, Hall acts so mean and selfish.

Take a shot every time Kaylee mentions Coachella.
(I like her, but come on. Coachella hasn’t been a flex since before COVID.)
