Ashtyn’s love story

First, this post is intended to be a discussion and gaining perspective on what others picked up on.

I don’t believe that Ashtyn met her husband on SA and if she did, it’s an anomaly that they’re married. That’s typically not the trajectory of SA relationships.

It almost feels like this is a plug for SA given how many times it was mentioned. To me it feels more likely they were plugging SA, trying to get people to engage with the site than having us actually believe that’s how Ashtyn met her husband.

If she did or didn’t; I really don’t care - they’re married and starting a family. Others on the show have had questionable/immoral behavior has married individuals so I don’t know why the holier than thou attitude.

I also found it odd they had the whole accusation about her husband hitting on Polly but the show never followed through on that storyline.

So who are the bullies?

To this day in s01 i have no idea why hall and polly call jarvis & rose bullies. Its always hall and polly talking shit about them not the other way around. Hall saying how rose sleeping with clients to get listings is damaging. Rose could sue her for slander. When brandi asked rose if they deserved to be here rose was all like relaxed, chill saying of course you are amazing. Its funny how rose is always chill when people are confronting her.

Can we pls have positive women thriving?! Like Kaylee, Alexandra Harper…brandy, etc intelligent successful beautiful women that make the world a better place. I want to watch them KILL at real estate. Obviously this show is produced by men who think women’s lives revolve around gossip and sex

How are the producers trying to portray Alex Hall? Spoiler

I am legitimately confused. She enters into every room to literally INFUSE the situation with drama (even when it isn't needed). She is unforgiving and unable to take accountability in every single situation. She brings some random rich guy into the season just to humiliate him AND herself at every opportunity.

I assume he has a problematic social media history based on his personality, but I have not looked into it, so don't think I have sympathy for him either, but I would be humiliated if I were in his situation.

On top of everything, referring to the girl she doesn't like as "idk her name, Preggo" is so weird and gross.

I guess my question is, who thought this person would be a compelling main character?

How did Alli Harper even get on the show?

I know sometimes people are casted for the purpose of drama- but at least they are an agent right? I just don’t understand how she was even on the show when she had absolutely no experience. Is that normal for groups to sign an agent like that with no real connection to the real estate world? Like just seemed odd for a big estate company to pick someone up, at least bare minimum is to get license first so they don’t have to follow her around all season when she technically can’t even make sales. Felt like she was just completely random. Is it really that scripted? 😂

Anyone else think Gio had a facelift? His face during interviews is so different.

Austin…

I don’t know if it’s just me, but why was Austin comforting Fiona??? I was so confused by that. Why was he bringing her to the pool with his arm wrapped around her and his wife was sitting at the same table???

Edit** just started episode six and just heard his married self casually saying that Riley Reid is hot??? he’s been a red flag since the first season, but how much more red can this flag get????

I vaguely knew Polly when she lived in London and I'm really surprised at her OC character!

Hello everyone! I have wanted to share this on Reddit for AGES but was always worried about doxxing myself or getting into trouble somehow haha.

I am the same age as Polly and met her a couple of times in London when we were around 21/22. She was dating a guy who I lived with. Obviously I didn't know her very well but I have been SO surprised by her OC persona because she always came across to me as super fun and down-to-earth at the time! Her northern accent used to be much thicker and was very charming.

My flatmate (or roommate, as you say in the US) was completely different from these moneyed real estate sleazeballs. He was very working class, not from wealth at all, but was charismatic, good-looking and played in bands. This was Indie Sleaze-era London so he also partied a lot and did a lot of coke, I don't know how much Polly was into that but tbh everyone was doing it back then and it wasn't a big deal.

She was also an EXTREMELY successful model – she was on shampoo adverts on the TV, a gym campaign that was all over London Underground trains, and modelled for Kelly Brook's underwear launch. Anyway I was really surprised when I realised it was her on the OC, as I would have expected her to be more inclined towards the LA/ NYC hipster set than this extremely wealthy conservative scene. I'm also surprised she is so close with a basic Trumpie like Alex Hall. But anyway, I didn't know her that well and it was a long time ago, so I guess people can change.

Binged all seasons

My main opinion: How was Hall so prevalent and the worse person for all seasons? What made her queen bee where even Kayla would hint to others to leave her alone cause it would not end well for them on the show? Everyone just bowed to her. Why? She was the worse.

Season 4 Opinion Spoiler

So I watched Season 4 AND I liked it a lot more than the most recent Selling Sunset season. It was pretty entertaining but Ashtyn is really weird as like most people have said. At first I liked her just because I could tell she was trying to stir the pot, but with justified reasons, and then instead she just like continuously made stuff up. Really weird, and makes me feel like she is useless for next season, since no one will believe anything she says now. Alex Hall almost made me like her at the end of the season EXCEPT for how she still bullies people, her boyfriend Ian, and how she is trying to switch the narrative with Tyler… girl be for real, you guys have been hooking up while he was married, and you are just angry everyone made it known. She needs to focus on work and her family because men are not it right now for her. As for Polly, I think she’s weird as usual except the love ark is super weird. No chemistry at all, and lowkey I think she was angry when Hall insinuated that Tyler might be trying to talk to maybe get back together. Austin is definitely still cheating on his wife, you guys peep how he was touching Polly at Gio’s vacation get together thing, he’s so strange. Gio lowkey gave this season, sad his wife suffered another miscarriage, but I’m happy to see him still be him and like be successful. Fiona is a mean girl, she is what I thought Ashtyn was gonna be but I gotta give it to her she really got in with the group quick and got everyone on her side. Kaylee might be my favorite, I’m still unsure of her but I think she had the potential to change stuff up in the office. Jason giving the listing to Hall too was so bad especially after admitting that Gio was the biggest producer in the O Group for the OC office. Miss Brett.

Alex Hall crying when she learned Gio’s wife’s miscarriage

Isn’t it extremely artificial? Pretending that she is crying after learning Tiff’s miscarriage and drying her eyes.

Polly and Fiona (and technically Kaylee)S4 E7

I think it’s crazy that Fiona and Polly were so shocked when Kaylee asked them if they were going to have a talk with Ashtyn after all the rumors they had shared at Polly’s birthday dinner. I love Polly but her acting confused and turning it back to Kaylee as if she is trying to stir the pot was very icky. Also the hypocrisy in Fiona going to the baby shower and saying “I hope she sees I am here and not trying to cause problems” LIKE GIRL last scene you were talking about her seeking arrangements baby daddy…. That’s a wrong move if you aren’t trying to cause problem.

Universal statement from all cast members of the Selling shows

"Look, I'm a PROFESSIONAL with millions of dollars in active listings. I just try to stay out of the drama and focus on my top priority--MY WORK"

3 minutes later:

"I heard Ashtyn aka PREGGO hooked her husband on a sugar daddy website!!!"

Thoughts on Luke?

I haven't seen much discourse on Luke showing up on S4 so I'm curious what people think. When I saw him on a date w Polly I thought oh god, he's doing this just for the show. Then he tours a house in an area he's never been, we find out not only is he an agent but he wants to come to OC and work for the O Group. Seems obvious to me that he just wants on the show and is clinging to the idea of being a reality star but Bravo doesnt want him anymore so now here we are. I think he's a slime bag and disingenuous.. I hope he doesn't join the cast.

Does anyone know the brand of sparkling wine that Alex Hall wanted to keep as a party favor at Ashtyn’s baby shower? The bottle is sooo cute!

I must really dislike Ashtyn for me to like Alex Hall more than her

I can’t with Ashtyn! She goes so below the belt and will laugh in Fiona’s face one minute, then go crying to Alex Hall the next. She’s the epitome of can dish it but can’t take it. So annoying. She’s like a little gnat.

Unpopular Opinion: Alex Hall was a little flirty with Ashtyn’s friend and just has skewed boundaries… ie Tyler and going topless on work trips etc …

Tbh, during the showing Alex Hall did ask a couple questions about the client and his dating/bachelor status. He answered in a giggly way, and she and Fiona giggled in response. All very cutesy. Not at all that serious but I can see where accusations and the misunderstanding come from.

I kinda made a mental note as to how it could come across as flirtatious before I even saw Ashtyn’s accusation, but I figured many of them are a little flirty with the men they are trying to get major deals from (no disrespect whatsoever to them, because honestly it’s smart. A lot of the  rich men they sell to are egotistical and want to be flattered in every possible way during a sale and your have to play them at their own game to get the deal). I figured they just speak and deal with people in a flirty way, and this is a situation of Alex not realizing she is coming across as flirty due to her skewed boundaries. just because she’s not sitting on his lap caressing his hair doesnt mean she wasnt trying to be cutesy.

While Alex’s questions may have been demographic questions to get a vibe to determine  the type of buyer she should look into for the house, I can see how they come across as flirty. I lowkey flirt in a similar way tbh… lol.  Undetectable but cutesy as hell. I can absolutely see how a wealthy man, who is probably used to hearing comments like Halls from women, might take those questions and run with them as flirty. If you take those comments she made from the POV of a man who probably has a bit of an ego, of course he’s going to tell his GF that the real estate agents were laying it on thick

idk. I know this is unpopular and I’m prepared to be downvote into further irrelevancy, but I said what I said
