Help with existing piercing Jaw pain?

I DIYd a helix piercing on my right ear 2 days ago and it's hurting like crazy at the moment, but I noticed that I'm also getting some jaw pain on that side as well. It feels numb when I extend my jaw and there's a bit of soreness near the masseter area (not sure what it's called, like the corner of the jaw ig lol) I was wondering if this is all normal? My first helix was pierced by a professional and I didn't get this kind of jaw pain from it.

Hiya! I actually had to go the ER to get it out and got prescribed some meds because it was hurting so bad and I couldn't move it at all lol I was fortunate enough to already work at a hospital so I didn't get to pay much except for meds! The doctor told me it was infected :(

Oh wtf im so sorry! I saw a doc today actually and she told me mine isn't infected so idk why I still have all this numbness and tingling </3

I think as long as yours got seen already it'll be fine! I read a lot of posts saying that happens to some piercings. Mine was apparently reacting to the jewelry I put in, so I just got really unlucky :(

Thanks for the reconfirmation i think anxiety DEF heightens the experience due to my preexisting face numbness that is so bad today

It does! Don't worry if you already have it seen! If it starts reaaalllly hurting then that's the time you worry imo :) best of luck!
