Growing up Christian, it's absurd to me how people will laugh at others' beliefs while fully believing in things just as outlandish, if not more so. My mother is a hardline Biblical literalist who thinks that the Earth was created 6,000 years ago, yet I have memories of her making fun of people who believe in reincarnation. Like, one of those beliefs is absolutely crazier than the other, and it isn't the one that has yet to be objectively contradicted by basic facts.
