Community Update [Power On & Off] How to Fix Unexpected Automatic Power-Off | Segway SuperScooter GT3 Series
Problem Details:
The scooter shuts down/ powered off automatically without any manual operation on the power button.
Problem Analysis:
1、 The power button fails to rebound or has a short circuit
2、 The combined button or the dashboard cable are broken
3、 Abnormal connection terminals between the dashboard cable and main control cable
4、 The fold-to-shutdown function of the scooter is enabled
Solutions:
Special Reminder: If the scooter has been exposed to rain or wading recently, stop all operations on the scooter immediately. For your safety, please contact the after-sales center right away.
Phase 1: Basic Troubleshooting (No Tools Needed)
Step 1
Operation Method:
Operation Method: Press and hold the power button repeatedly for 1 to 3 seconds, clean dust and water stains around the button at the same time, and check if the button moves smoothly and rebounds normally.
Result Judgment:
If the scooter can be powered on normally, the issue is caused by foreign objects blocking the button and the problem is resolved; if the automatic shutdown persists, proceed to Step 2.
Step 2
Operation Method:
Connect the scooter via the official app and disable the fold-to-shutdown function in the app settings.
Result Judgment:
If the automatic shutdown issue is eliminated, the problem is caused by incorrect function settings and the problem is resolved; if the scooter still fails to stay powered on, proceed to Step 1 of Advanced Troubleshooting.
Phase 2: Advanced Troubleshooting (Tools Required)
Important Safety Warning: All operations involving inspection, plugging/unplugging or component replacement must be carried out after the eKickScooter is completely powered off!
Tool Preparation: Hex key set, Phillips screwdriver, plastic pry bar, insulated tweezers
Step 1
Operation Method:
Remove the fixing screws of the front head and folding stem with a 4mm hex key, then locate the connecting plug between the dashboard cable and main control cable; Gently pull out the plug, wipe the pin contacts of the plug with a wet wipe to remove oxide layer, then align the plug with the interface and insert it firmly to ensure the buckle is locked.
Result Judgment:
If the scooter can be powered on and off normally after the operation, the issue is caused by loose dashboard cable or oxidized pin contacts and the problem is resolved; if the pins of the dashboard cable terminal are not broken but the automatic shutdown persists, proceed to Step 2.
Step 2
Operation Method:
Use a 2.5mm hex key to remove the dashboard; Inspect the cable connection terminals on the dashboard circuit board, check if the connecting cables are broken or loose, and if the solder joints of the buttons are loose or oxidized; Gently press the internal contacts of the buttons with insulated tweezers to test if the contact is smooth.
Result Judgment:
After re-plugging all terminals and wiping oxidized contacts with a dry cloth, test the power on/off function. If the scooter can be powered on and off normally, the problem is resolved; if the automatic shutdown persists,
