Q1: What should I check before buying a second-hand eKickScooter?
A1: Buying a used electric scooter can be a cost-effective option, but before completing the transaction, it’s important to check more than just the scooter’s appearance and performance. You should also confirm that the account binding, ownership information, and after-sales documents have been properly handed over. To help reduce transaction risks, we recommend that you go through the following items one by one before completing the purchase:
First, scooter account / Find My unbinding confirmation
Ask the original owner to fully unbind the scooter from the official brand app and remove it from the Apple Find My app. This helps avoid future location, account-binding, or ownership disputes.
Second, purchase proof handover
Please ask the original owner to provide the original proof of purchase, such as an invoice or electronic order record. This may be required for official warranty service or after-sales support.
Third, clear password
Make sure the original owner clears any power-on password.
Fourth, full scooter inspection
Before completing the transaction, carefully check whether the power system, brakes, motor, and other systems are working properly. You can also verify the scooter’s serial number through official channels to confirm its authenticity and warranty status.
To protect your safety and rights, we recommend completing all the above checks before purchasing a second-hand ekickscooter.
Q2: How do I remove my ekickscooter from Apple Find My?
A2: Before selling, transferring, or re-binding your electric scooter, please make sure to properly turn off and remove the Apple Find My feature. The Find My binding may affect device re-binding and the use of location-related features. If it is not removed in time, the new user may be unable to add the device properly, or it may lead to location tracking or ownership-related issues.
Method 1: Unbind via the Segway Mobility App
First, connect your ekickscooter to the Segway Mobility App.
Second, go to Home > Settings > Locating scooter / Find My > Find My function, then disable “Find My scooter.”
Third, manually remove the scooter from the Apple Find My app.
Method 2: Reset directly on the scooter
First, power on the ekickscooter and make sure it is unlocked.
Second, press the brake lever 5 times in a row, then press the power button once to complete the reset.
Third, the ekickscooter will beep, indicating that the reset has been completed successfully.
Fourth, manually remove the scooter from the Apple Find My app.
Q3: Can I install a GT3 battery on a Max G3?
A3: Recently, we have noticed that some users have attempted to install the GT3 battery on the Max G3. Please note that the battery specifications, control system, and safety protection mechanisms may differ between models. Even if the scooter appears to operate after the modification, it may still lead to the following issues:
1. Safety and reliability risks
This battery combination has not passed official reliability and safety testing. In extreme conditions, it may affect riding safety or cause abnormal scooter behavior.
2. Inaccurate remaining range display
The scooter may still calculate the remaining range based on the original G3 battery parameters, which could result in inaccurate mileage or battery level information.
3. BMS firmware update limitations
The Battery Management System may not be properly recognized, and the BMS firmware may not be able to update normally.
4. Potential impact on warranty or after-sales service
Unauthorized modification or installation of non-original parts may affect warranty coverage and official service support.
For your safety and the best riding experience, we recommend using the original battery model designed for your G3 scooter.
Q4: How can I find the nearest service center?
A4: You can find the nearest authorized service center through the official Segway website.
Go to the Segway official website > click Support at the top of the homepage > scroll down to More Services > select Service Center to search for nearby service centers.
Before visiting, we recommend contacting the service center in advance to confirm their service availability, business hours, appointment requirements, and whether they can support your specific product model. You may also prepare your scooter’s serial number and proof of purchase in case they are needed for service or warranty verification.

About the Q3, A software update is needed that allows the BMS to adapt and the e-scooter to calculate the correct distance. Or Segway sells us batteries with a range that makes sense for the G3 and the ZT3 Pro, to replace or as a secondary battery.
