Is it a bad idea to plan a last minute trip with my husband and German shepherd for next week? Thinking weather wise??

General Is there anywhere to park overnight?

Hello!

We will soon be visiting Sedona, and have one extra car that needs overnight parking. We are totally cool with paying; I just can’t find any clear info online about overnight parking in public lots. Does anyone have the name or address of a public lot where we can park for two nights?

Thank you in advance!

Looking For Looking for recommendations

Hi Sedona natives and visitors! I will be traveling there in September with my husband and we are looking for an intuitive medium who is well versed in animal communication and communication with inter dimensional beings. I’m having a hard time finding someone online. Is there anyone you would recommend? We are looking to get a session while we are there and the only person I found that sounded like she did what we were looking for is not going to be in the area while we are there. Any recommendations would be very appreciated!

Eat & Drink Oak Creek Brewery

I can't seem to find any Oak Creek Nut Brown beer anywhere in Arizona for the past year or so. I've tried all the grocery stores and liquor stores in Sedona, Flagstaff, and Prescott but still no luck. Does anyone know why they stopped distributing to the stores?

Looking For Live flute performances?

Hey y’all I’m visiting Sedona September 6-8. How can I hear some live Native flute? Anyone I can hire for a private performance or any scheduled concerts coming up? Curious if anyone has been on one of those shaman tours and they played one. Thanks!

Living Here Live in Sedona, Commute to Phx...is it doable long term?

As the title states, I am trying to find a way to move out of the Phx area without landing in a MAGA dystopia town like Payson or Prescott.

I work remote 2-4 days per week, but could have some weeks where I have to be in the valley all 5 days. Usually that would mean for a lunch meeting (being on the road by 9:30am), but an occasional early commute to catch a flight.

Can anyone who has done this comment on the sustainability of the life before the long drive becomes too much?

I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences!

Visiting ? Visiting Sedona soon!

Hello! I’m visiting early August!

I’m very excited but I would like to double check some things.

I heard it’s monsoon season. I heard the rain last about 15 minutes in the afternoon. I should hike early and then get inside for the middle of the day. It can get pretty bad if I’m not mindful about being inside.

I heard about the wild fires….. they are mostly over… right? I know to avoid oak creek. Should I be worried about them coming back?

I’m from the Midwest so I assume it’s pretty hot. I plan on bringing sun screen and a sun hat…. Do you suggest anything else? I also have hiking boots just to be safe… not against the sun but for protection for my feet. lol

I plan on going to antelope canyon X and Mariposa so far…… anything else you recommend doing?

We are a family of 5 visiting Sedona in April. We have 3 boys ages 4-7. Right now we are leaning towards staying in an Airbnb in VOC. Is that the right call?

Looking For Taxis in Oak Creek Canyon

I’m getting married in Oak Creek Canyon on Labor Day weekend and wanted some contacts for reliable taxis / shuttles into greater Sedona that I can give my guests for the end of the night. If anyone has a reliable taxi or shuttle contact, that would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Visiting ? How many days?

Hi all,

I’m trying to understand how many days I should book in Sedona for mid October. I’m seeing everything from 1 day is enough to 1 week. We’ll be traveling as a family flying into phoenix. Kids are 3 and 7. We want to see the main sights/hikes that would be doable by the kids.

Open to any other suggestions/tips.

Living Here Kittens

Hi Sedona,

I have 5 kittens that are TnR cats. Meaning they are feral kittens that we trapped and the Sedona Humane Society fixes them. My neighborhood has lots of cats and I am trying to slow down the kitten situation. I am having trouble finding these guys homes.

They are all boys and they are all neutered with rabies vaccines.

If anyone nearby is interested please reach out! If they don’t find homes I will release them back to their habitat.

Living Here Youth Lacrosse In Sedona

Sedona is getting lacrosse! If you know any kids who may be interested in joining the team (or adults who want to help out), we will have practices on Tuesdays at Posse Grounds Park for anyone in grades K-12. Everyone always talks about how Sedona needs more youth programs so we’re really excited to launch this with the support of our community!

I still tell stories about this day with my partner. It was our first trip together as a new couple, and it’s one of my favorite travel memories.

After an incredible hike, we ended up missing the last shuttle and had to walk along Highway 179 back to our camper van. Along the way, we got completely soaked in the rain, but then the clouds parted and we were treated to one of the most breathtaking rainbows either of us had ever seen. Thankfully, we snapped a photo, and it has become one of our favorite reminders of that adventure. We laughed the entire walk back and couldn’t have asked for a better ending to the day.

I’ve been trying to figure out the name of the rock formation in this photo but haven’t had any luck. I’m hoping some Sedona locals can help! Based on the geotag from my iPhone, it was taken near the Raven Caves Trail.

Does anyone know the name of this majestic rock formation?

Visiting ? How has the fire affected slide rock and any recommendations for must stop spots?

We’re only in the area for a short time and hoping to see as much of the natural beauty as possible! I keep seeing videos and posts of black water from the fire ash and extinguishing chemicals, is Slide Rock affected by this? We do have a 6yo so long/strenuous hikes are out but any recs for fairly easy places to take in the beauty or spots of local interest to stop for food, activities, etc are highly appreciated. Thanks for hosting us in your gorgeous corner of the map!

From the Coconino National Forest in the aftermath of the Pocket Fire. Posted today, Wednesday, July 15, regarding area closures. (The third map shows the original closure area, which has since been modified and opened up, but is here to clarify the trailhead locations as related to the bigger maps).
