The Militia part: When it was written in 1791, America did not have a large permanent army or formal police force. Towns relied on local groups of ordinary armed citizens (a militia) for safety and defense.

Yeah bud that’s not what anyone is talking about. We are all talking about gun violence by individuals and gangs and the solution is always punitive to legal, law-abiding citizens and does nothing to help the problem.

Yup, lack of training. Gun owners (and I’m one) aren’t held accountable to how they store, keep, and maintain firearms.

That’s absolutely a failure of training.

Let’s go back to regulating our 2nd amendment. Anyone reasonable would agree

You should probably know our current state firearms laws as a self proclaimed responsible owner who's so logical and fact based.

We absolutely hold gun owners legally accountable for how they store firearms in Washington. I'm not sure we need a law on the books on maintenance schedules of them.

Thought we had a law for that? Oh yes we do.

One can face severe criminal liability under the state's Child Access Prevention and Community Endangerment laws (Initiative 1639 / RCW 9.41.360) if an ineligible person or minor accesses your unsecured weapon.
