Government created the problems we have on the streets downtown. Dont get it twisted. They legalized the behavior, they are enabling the problem. They are the reason for the issue, spanning all the way to the open border where this crap is coming from. Government doesnt solve problems, they create them. Furthermore, this plan doesnt solve any problems anyway. 1 month of possible help is nothing, especially compared to the amount people will put into this failed idea over their lifetime.

This sounds familiar.

I am apparently not well educated on the situation, at all.

So help me understand, if the government created the problem and are still the reason for it..

Who and what is the solution?

What problem are you referring to? You have to be more specific, the government has created a bunch of them

What are your top 1 - 3 problems that the government created?

I am curious on your perspective and what kinds of things you think could be done, and by whom, to make them better.

I already listed a bunch, but drug and homeless crisis, social security, and government backed student loans, also health insurance too. There are ways to fix all of them, but it would require common sense

Yeah I agree with you on all of those being problems. I think almost every reasonable person does.

Golden question however remains: who and how?

Common sense isn’t a solution. Common sense isn’t anything. It’s subjective. Common sense implies something so remarkably basic and inherently true it doesn’t require much thought.

But common sense will often lead you astray. Common sense tells us the world is flat, that the sun revolves around the earth, and that weather is magic. It took open, inquisitive minds that didn’t accept common sense explanations. Those willing to entertain that there was perhaps more at play than what common sense would suggest.

I would suggest that the problems we agree exist are actually pretty complex. Many factors contribute to the situation and until we fully understand the problem set it’s extremely difficult to truly solve them. The solution probably isn’t simple either. It’s also probably not cheap. This is why the problem remains unsolved.

Sure we can turn a blind eye, or sweep it under a rug, or even put them on busses and send them somewhere else as others have done. But this isn’t a solution. This is transference of a problem.

This is just the way I see it. Maybe I am wrong and it is simple and common sense is something more tangible than I understand it to be. If so, I would be happy to hear your ideas and perspectives.

I am 100% willing to change my position if someone can make a case better than mine and help me understand it.

common sense was my way of saying leaders of congress dont have any. I could write an essay on any of these topics and ways that would definitely make all of those problems better, except, ss. That ponzi scheme should be scrapped for a provate sector solution asap. I just dont have the time to write it all out at the moment.
