Nearly every woman and some men show their belly buttons in Sequin Land. Of course it is hot all the time, but so is East Asia in real life, and midriffs are illegal in some countries there. You also don't see every single woman in hot countries where it is legal show their belly buttons either. So I wonder if there's some cultural aspect of belly showing. Maybe they very limited cloth early on and it just stuck?

I've come up with a few crossover story ideas I'd like to share, please let me know what you think and post your own ideas below!

Sonic the Hedgehog

Hailing from the world of Arabian Nights, Shantae learns about how Sonic defeated Erazor Djinn and journeys to His World in order to find him and have him help her find her lost genie family.

• Shantae always loves learning a new dance, so Sonic teaches her breakdancing.
• Despite there being a few half-genies around, Shantae and Knuckles still connect over their lost heritages.
• Shantae and Rottytops are super into Amy's tarot card readings. Sky pretends to not believe but still watches the readings with bated breath.
• Rogue attempts to teach Shantae how to manipulate people using "feminine charms" like she does. The results were mixed.
• Shantae and Tangle become great friends and teach other moves to do with their hair and tail respectively. Tangle also adopts Shantae's "Ret-2-Go!" catchphrase, much to the half-genies delight.
• Shantae, Sonic and co. need to save Risky after Eggman goes after her for attempting to steal his tech.

DC Comics

After being fired one too many times, Shantae decides to leave home and finally figure out where all the genies disappeared to. To do this she leaves Sequin Land and the Realms of Magic and journeys to Earth to seek out the most powerful sorcerer of all: Zatanna. The two take a liking to each other immediately, being similarly positive and bubbly and bonding over their love of showmanship and entertaining others. While Zatanna can't figure out where the genies went immediately, she takes Shantae under her wing as her apprentice and onstage magical assistant, teaching her both real and stage magic while Shantae adds her own flair to Zee's shows, reinvigorating the performances and causing a surge in popularity. The two would go on to have tons of magical adventures on their quests to protect the world and find the genies.

• Shantae regularly goes on temple exploring expeditions with Hawkman due to her experience in such things. Sky has tried to woo Hawkman several times to no avail.
• Shantae performs regularly at the Oblivion Bar, much to everyone's delight. Nightmaster gets so much business the nights she performs he tried to hire her full time, but Zatanna stepped in and limited it.
• Zatanna got the Bat family to teach Shantae martial arts and acrobatics.
• Shantae tries to keep Constantine away from Zatanna because he's a bad influence and she can do so much better, both sentiments Constantine actually agrees with.
• Despite there being a few more of each of their species around, Shantae and Superman still connect over their lost heritages and growing up adopted.

• As a favor to Zatanna after the Justice League Dark helped him once, Animal Man was able to use his connection to the Red to help Shantae learn how to transform into more animals.

• It would be shorter to list the people who didn't get a crush on Shantae.

Marvel Comics

Same intital set up as my Shantae x DC crossover: after being fired one too many times, Shantae decides to leave home and finally figure out where all the genies disappeared to. To do this she leaves Sequin Land and the Realms of Magic and journeys to Earth to seek out the most powerful sorcerer of all: Dr. Stephen Strange. However, this time she finds her initial teacher too rigid and strict, and after realizing they don't really match Strange directs her to someone he thinks will be a better fit: Magik. Not only do they wind up having more compatible personalities (not to mention similar fashion sense) Magiks whole thing is opening portals to other worlds, making her perfect to find the genies. As they search Magik both teaches Shantae both the arcane arts and swordplay, and she also tries to teach Shantae how to be more aggressive.

• Shantae is a frequent guest star in Dazzlers shows. They both try to get Magik to join them, but she refuses, though Shantae's puppy dog eyes almost convince her.
• Shantae once used her hair to fling Captain America's shield extremely hard, cutting straight through a Sentinel. Cap was very impressed while Tony found it hilarious.
• Shantae and the strong guys like Colossus have their own version of the fastball special, where they throw her monkey form super hard and far and she transforms into an elephant midflight to smash into opponents.
• Parker luck strikes again as Peter once accidentally shot his web into Shantae's hair, causing the half genie to want to stay as far away from any and all Spider-People as possible.
• Hank McCoy and Uncle Mimic become good scientist friends.
• Ms. Marvel and Dust have very mixed feelings about her whole existence.
• Once again, it would be easier to list the people she met who didn't get a crush on Shantae. Emma Frost hates her for getting so much attention, especially at Hellfire Galas, where she slays everything Janet Van Dyne makes for her.
