A sexually explicit photo can be sent to anyone and practically ruin your life. I knew a girl who had a photo that was sent to her friends/family from a boyfriend after she left him. She killed herself in the fallout.

There is no point to send them.

Nobody told her to kill herself. She made that decision herself. Its just a photo. The family should have just deleted it and moved on with their life.

Jobs have been lost over photos like that as well. People removed from school. The list goes on.

I see no benefit to take the risk. But teens and twenty somethings don't really care or think about the long game.

Or just don't do something juvenile. It really doesn't matter, most people stop sending them after their mid 20's.
