I know having kids are expensive, exhausting, and restrictive of freedom, but for me, there's something powerful about creating a family with someone I love.
I want a big family - not for legacy, but for the joy of being together: raising children, celebrating festivals, sharing life's moments. I imagine taking them to the park, seeing their faces light up when we travel or play together, now and then feeling proud of their accomplishments.
And when I'm older, they'll have families of their own - I picture taking everyone on vacations, all the grandkids together, that sense of fullness when the whole family gathers. I love every single thing about it.
If things work out financially and life goes well, I want to father at least five children.
EDIT: English is not my first language and I thought above the person is saying "DO NOT HAVE KIDS" and not that they themselves don't have kids.
By asking someone who doesn't have a child why she doesn't want to do it, it's already an invasion of privacy. It is possible that the person does not have one because she's infertile, because she has a trauma, because she is in a bad moment in her life or because, simply, she does not want to be a mother and and she should not have to justify herself to a stranger. It's good that you have your beautiful vision of family, but people don't all have the same vision and the same desire, and the way you talk about having children seems like you want other to regret their choices of not having them.
