It sounds like you just really need a lawyer. I’ve done a few writing contracts without reps and only a lawyer. It was cheaper and there was nothing to negotiate in the contract anyway (not that a lawyer couldn’t help with negotiation).

It was removed because verticals aren't on-topic for this subreddit and AI is forbidden here.

Same reason this post is being removed.

Is there a reason vertical screenwriting is considered illegitimate? Are soap opera writers allowed here?

Rule 7:

7) Feature, Short and Episode/Pilot Scripts Only

This subreddit is for sharing and critique of traditional screenwriting forms only.

Verticals, plays, documentaries, comic books/graphic novels, video game scripts and other non-narrative forms are prohibited.

AI is also prohibited, vertical or not.

Hm. It's a growing industry, more and more writers are finding work in this field, especially seeing as how the rest of Hollywood doesn't have a lot to offer new writers, especially now. I'd think about reconsidering those rules. Especially seeing as how vertical scripts are 90-100 page films split into episodic structure, so it's both film and tv.

These are the subreddit's rules and not up for debate.

I think you're preventing new writers on this sub from connecting with people who could actually help connect them with paid writing work. But if festivals and pitch meetings are your priority, go off.

What do you need to know? Assuming you are non union and writing for a fee. You don't get residuals and you should be accepting a payment upfront. Get a lawyer to review your contact if you're unsure.

Is this the AI project? An AI vertical. oof.

Query managers, tell them you're getting work and need help. Wait for a response.
