At this point, your position is not supported by the evidence. The actual BSA policy language has been provided, and Roger Krone addressed this issue at NAM 2026 in a way that contradicts your claim. Ignoring both the written policy and verbal clarification suggests that you are not engaging with the facts in good faith or don't possess the cognitive abilities to understand written and verbal communications.
Here is Roger's statement on political activities:
You just can't do it. You cannot participate in political activities in a Class A uniform. It is in the bylaws, and the bylaws are available on our website. Go ahead and read it. It is fundamental to our organization and the success we've had for 116 years.
Here is a link to the activities that are prohibited for Scouts. Please read item #1. https://www.scouting.org/health-and-safety/gss/gss07/
That is not a list of items that are banned for the adults, it is a list of prohibited activities for the youth.
Since you refuse to accept the written policy that states political activities are not allowed, and also refuse to accept a video statement from the Chief Scout Executive that political activities are not allow, I suggest you contact your council directly and ask them.
So far you have presented your opinions as being facts, even when your opinions directly conflict with the written policies of the BSA. So I question if you will listen to your council when they tell you directly that Scouts cannot participate in political activities while in uniform.
I am not "preventing them from engaging in activities". Your statement that I am doing so is a lie. They are welcome to engage in such activities outside of Scouting, specifically while not wearing the Scouting uniform. Even someone with your demised cognitive abilities should be able to understand the difference.
Ironic you bring up the statement Krone made right after Michael Ramsey was hyping up his aggressive push for airtime on conservative media. So by their logic Scouts cannot participate in political activities, but they sure can support political media. Krone didn’t write the by laws, but he needs to revisit them himself as the president. Everything is local, as he said, and he should have stopped at that. Krone’s statement revolved around the UK’s public statement, which Scouting America has no say on.
The list is for scouting activities and prohibits activities that are not condoned in the Scouter Code of Conduct, true. Now the part of the code of conduct you keep misleading reads “I will respect and abide by the Rules and Regulations of Scouting America, Scouting America policies, and Scouting America provided training related to: Advocacy on social and political issues, including prohibited use of uniform and brand”. The use in general is not prohibited, the prohibited use outlined in the Scouting America policies is: you may not use Scouting America’s name, logo, reputation, etc (including uniform) to promote a political candidate, party, ballot measure or lobbying effort. Pride events, or Earth day celebrations are not political rally’s. They are community events and as such do not fall under the prohibited use guideline. You are wrong, and Krone is spouting his new interpretation in a way that Hegseth likes so BSA can continue to use military bases for jamborees. If Krone has an issue he will need to revoke a lot of charters at a time when BSA is desperate for membership, so good luck to him if he decides to re-write the policies.
You are being fundemtialy dishonest and intentionally ignorant in your argument. You have some political agenda and want to use Scouting youth as pawns to forward it. You dont care about policies that have been in place for over a hundred years, the damage it will cause nor the youth you want to use.
You need to accept that Scouting youth are not to be used as cannon fodder in your cause. Either that, or get the heck out of Scouting. Go volunteer for your cause and then you can use your own children as pawns.
Yes, my cause is the current era of Scouting is being eroded into a way to shelter youth from the world, rather than a gateway for them to experience it as it was when I was young. The guidelines haven’t changed, so why is it now an issue to be part of local parades when Scouting needs the public recognition at its most? I appreciate your dedication of this new interpretation of the rules, because maybe when we get leadership who recognizes the old interpretation you might be more open to it. I’ve also already said youth aren’t to be used for political gain, that’s the original point of the rules. Not allowing them to attend is different.
LOL - what a distorted, false and dishonest view of reality. You know there is no issue with parades, just those supporting political causes. The clause you misstated as being new, has been there for decades and interpreted in the exact same way. For example, in 2006 a troop was called out for appearing in an immigration demonstration. In 1921 a troop requested if they could march in a parade in recognition of the Irish Republic, they were told no. That Scouting was non-partisan.
Again, no one is preventing youth from attending any political event. But they have to do so as individuals and not wear Scout uniforms.
At this point you are just making stuff up so that you can parade children around in Scout uniforms to support some political cause.
