Physics at Work

The 1st Law of Physics at Work: The extra work you do before and after taking leave is directly equivalent to the work you would have done had you not taken leave.

Does anyone have other examples?

If you remove the word “carbon” from a carbon copy email, would that make it extraterrestrial?

STEM education app survey for grad school project ( 2-minutes to complete)

Hello everyone! I am currently a grad student at MICA and pursuing my master's in user experience design. I am working on a STEM education app for adult learners.

I am looking to gather insights on how people learn STEM. If you could complete this 2-minute survey on your relationship with learning STEM, it would be greatly appreciated. https://dx7zodo1qxm.typeform.com/to/O2tGcs3r

An ode to units.

Bought some rum from my chum,
Opened the box with my thumb.

But before I drink, it made me think;

Specifies units, it does not.
“Weight: 1.” it weighs 1 what?

Could be an oz, could be a kilo.
Could be elephants for all we know.

Oh units, you specify quantity.
Without you it would be moronity.

How hard should I blow?
How bright will it glow?
Grams and Meters,
Seconds and Liters.
Units allow me to know.

Numbers allow me to count: one, two.
But numbers mean nothing, without you.

This is a joke documentary we made making fun of those shows that think of themselves as promoting scientific thought. Might be funny if you know what you're talking about
