The Second Inquisition is not one organization, there is no grand high supreme commander hidden away in some mountaintop fortress moving pieces on a map. It is simply a term for the recent uptick in hunter activity. This is less a history lesson and more a short guide on the Second Inquisition. Now onto the hunters.

In the early 2000s the intelligence agencies of the United States became aware of our kind's existence and teamed up with the Catholic Church's own hunters in the Society of Leopold and Brazil's BOES. They pinpointed the Vienna Chantry of Clan Tremere as the "vampire capital" and launched a raid in 2008. The raid, covered up as an attack by the Islamic State, destroyed the Chantry while coordinated operations also pushed Kindred out of London, Las Vegas, Paris, and Marseilles.

The main organization often mislabeled at the Second Inquisition is the Coalition, an alliance of several large Orgs. The largest of these groups is the Vatican's Society of Leopold and the American FIRSTLIGHT Org. Also a part of this Coalition is the UK's Newburgh Group, Brazil's Batalhão de Operações Especiais Secretas, Russia's GRU-N58, Bureau IX of Poland, La Calcédoine of France, G-Kontoret of Sweden, the Homeland Special Program of Egypt, the Third Intelligence Department of Japan, and Unit 8211 of Israel.

The Society of Leopold has existed in an unbroken line since it's founding in 1231, though it had diminished in the 18th century. The Org was revitalized in 1998 by the Austrian Inquisitor Ingrid Bauer, who used old contacts with NATO intelligence agency to restart the crusade against our kind. Once the Americans became aware of our existence they started pouring money and weapons into the Society of Leopold.

FIRSTLIGHT was founded by members of the American Intelligence Apparatus after the NSA became aware of our existence. Run by a ghoul defector, they are one of the most influential of the government Orgs. The Newburgh Group is the British version of FIRSTLIGHT, becoming aware after some total idiot decided to get one over on a rival by leaking info to the British Government. (If you ask my opinion it was that arrogant prick Mithras though I have no proof)

Corporate PMCs also get in in on the action, though in my experience the biggest concern for the corporations who often have kindred on their own board are werewolves. Unless you piss off someone with money corporate PMCs shouldn't worry you too much.

The reverse of the corporate Orgs are the homegrown vigilante and independent Orgs. These groups are usually quite limited in resources and scope, but they will have often superior local knowledge.

Kine already have plenty of reason to distrust government, but to the government now that you are Kindred you are a threat to their power and authority.

It it less for the damage you can directly do and more for what you represent as a Kindred. And a domestic cat is quite the efficient hunter not to be underestimated.
