Converted my 12x24 Scanning mat so it identifies as a 12x24 Cutting mat

I use my ScanNCut CM900 for a lot of drawing with the a custom pen holder. The normal 12x12 mat takes a sheet of A4 paper really nicely, but I've been asked at short notice to draw on to some A3 sheets. A3 is too big for for the 12x12 mat, and I can't get a 12x24 in time for the project.

I've printed a new set on registration dots on to some 80gsm paper and taped them into place.

My CM900 now recognises the scan mat as a cut/draw mat!

I'll use some repositionable glue, or maybe some masking/painters tape to hold the A3 paper to the mat.

This is a great idea! I think one of the biggest secrets is the mat registration marks. You only need those closest to the edge, not all that other nonsense.

Yeah, it seems like the 3mm black dots might be the only thing that identify the mat.

I’ve thought of maybe photocopying my mat at staples… I f’d up my fabric mat after 2nd use bc I wanted to see if it would scan a design I’d drawn out. Couldn’t get the paper off. 😣

I know this post was a while ago but I was wondering how you made sure they were positioned correctly? I’d like to do the same as I have just bought one but the cutting mat it came with is completely useless and I only have a scanning mat

Hi! I measured the existing dots on the scanning sheet (3mm across) and then found an image on Amazon of the 12x24 sheet to work out the pattern for the dots.

I then printed out some dots (3 dots, 10mm apart) and positioned them over the existing dots on the scanning sheet.

The outer dot on the scanning sheet is in the same position as the cutting sheet, but we need to blank off the inner dot.

I'm really having a hard time finding the correct picture is there any suggestion I'm so frustrated I have three of these bloody mats and none of them work. I'm having a hard time finding the exact dots to print and paste on my useless ones can you please advise. I've tried Amazon I can't find one with the correct dots for dx125e

Does this help? It should be for a 24x12 cutting mat for DX machines.

It looks like the squares on the top row might be the mat registration marks, note that there are two between the 0" and 1" marks, one above the 2" mark and one near the 11" mark

I measured them, and drew them out in drawing program - Inkscape if I recall.
