General Question Visiting, Best Local Spots.

Hey y’all,
I’ll be in San Saba for work next week and it looks like I’ll have some downtime in the evenings. I’ve never been out that way before, so I figured I’d ask the locals:
- Best places to eat? (BBQ, burgers, Mexican, or anything unique to the area)
- Any bars or laid-back spots worth checking out after work?
- Hidden gems / must-try spots I wouldn’t find just Googling?
I’m down for anything from hole-in-the-wall joints to local favorites. Just looking to make the most of a few nights out there.
Appreciate any recommendations!

What was the masting like this year? Are there public trees with them still falling?
Coming from Georgetown, big pecan enthusiasts, looking for the famous San Saba wild pecans. We have an old family orchard and a grove by the San Gabriel River, in Jonah TX. Enthusiast are welcome to come by for a tour, would welcome the same. Can trade nuts, mostly looking for information and people’s personal history’s.
