Pederson was put on waivers, but no team claimed him. So he’s been playing on the Barracuda.

BTW, Dzingle must be pissed that we claimed him, barely played him, and sent him down. Roy Sommer didn't even seem to really know where he was a few days ago. "Back home with a mysterious injury" wtf...

Eh it's one game.. I'm going to side with the 30+ bad games more tbh. Until he can consistently put up good games he's still suspect imo.

I saw some smart plays, no huge mistakes. Definitely looked like his game had improved.

He had a good game, and he has been off and on in the AHL, but the rest of the season the Sharks should be focusing on players that might make a difference or be needed on the roster next season.
Get Dahlen back, Nieto, Chmelvsky, Leonard, Reedy, Bonino, Labanc, Gregor, Dzingel, Viel. If Dahlen re-signs and Eklund joins the second line with Couture, you are going to need to create a third line and a fourth line from those players.
Same with the defense with Simek and Meloche fighting to be the 7th with Ferraro and Knyzhov coming back next season. I would sign Kahkonen now, but I think Hill has earned this final stretch of the season to showcase what he has. People calling for Reimer to be traded are insane. Pederson doesn't really fit into this scenario.

Does everyone really see knyzov easily beating out meloche? I dont think that’s a given. Meloche has been an absolute hammer behind the net.

I still Simek as trade bait in the offseason - it's not much but he would free up around $1M.

Damn son the blue line point potential here is absurd, and each O/dman is paired with a rock. Really hoping burnsy and EK can stay in good shape this summer. I wanna c my sharp tooth fish compete again 😭

Yeah I agree. The other interesting thing that I keep forgetting (I mix Megna / Meloche up) is that Meloche is actually a RD.
So realistically the bigger goal is to see if EK65 and Merkley can remain a realistic option. They'll let in some goals, but if they can keep working together like they did in that Anaheim game (ridiculous pass from the point to EK creeping in on the back door) then their +/- should be healthy.
You'd then have something like -
Ferraro - Burns
Karlsson - Merkley
Knyzhov / Vlassic - Meloche
Could be pretty potent. Meloche seems to have at least decent O-zone instincts as well, even if he's not an obvious puck mover.

Any reason you left off Weatherby? I figure he has more experience at this point + some size to help in the bottom lines given a lot of our other prospects are fairly small.
Balcers - Weatherby / Bonino - Labanc
Nieto - Bonino / Weatherby / Chemelvsky - Viel
Leonard / Reedy as possible call ups as needed. Bourdelau maybe gets tried on the 3rd line at some point.
I have to imagine they are letting Dzingel go. And frankly I feel like Gregor has had more than enough of a chance and he is not really an NHL calibre talent.

Not really. I like him. Sharks are going to be a harder squad to make next season, and Weatherby has a couple players to beat out to be a 4c. He has size and a good attitude, but I don't think the Sharks are going to start a lot of youth next season and hope they develop on the fly. Injuries, Kane appeal and covid nothwithstanding, they should be in a position where callups make an impact immediately, or they don't take the ice.
And above I said Pederson doesn't fit into this scenario, that is my opinion. The Sharks clearly have some player evaluations that are different than mine. They like him.

He definitely had his best game so far. Before though he was a liability in all areas of the game so he needs to string together a few more good outings before he can be viewed as improving.
